you should go with what you can afford. even if you aren't paying...you shouldn't take advantage unless your parents got it like that.

The decision is entirely up to you & your fiance ; BUT take a moment to think about WHY you want a big wedding(is it just for *show* & how many people do you know who you feel are really close to & would want to share your day). & make sure you are also giving some thought to the marriage & just what your expectations are of that.
TOO MANY people spend too much time thinking about ""the wedding""" - which really is only 1 day & not enough about the ""marriage"" which is meant to be for the rest of your lives
A small intimate wedding generally means a LOT LESS STRESS leading up to the day; also less expensive,
with a smaller wedding it is also easier for the couple to spend more time mixing with all their guests on the day
also depends on what you mean by big. for some people 100 guests would mean a BIG wedding - others a small wedding- personally I feel about 50 guests is a comfortable number- I only had 17 people all up at mine - but a sister who got married before me had about 80
Whatever you choose - ENJOY your day

Medium is good for if you dont want a small wedding but you dont want a big extravaganza either. I want a medium sized wedding that is classy and elegant. A big wedding means more expenses and more headaches. But hey if you can pull it off then more power to you.

I don't like big weddings....I think they're a waste of money for just 1 day.
I had a small wedding and a really terrific honeymoon in Fiji for 14 days....then we put a nice down payment on our first home.
One of the best decisions we've ever made.

I've dreamed of having a medium-sized, but GORGEOUS wedding. All the bells & whistles included. But, I've realized that since I have a budget in mind (no one else is helping financially with my wedding), I will have to be okay with a small wedding that is simple, yet elegant.

I always pictured myself having a large wedding, but now that we're planning and paying for it, I've realized that small is the way to go for us! I just found this elopement plus guests package that I'm going to try to get and just invite close family and friends. I think it will be more of a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.

it would have to be a big one! :) but only with the people i love a lot.. i want my wedding to be a big fuss lol but i dont want to invite people who i arent really close to or people just to fill up spaces..
although if it was the choice of do i invite loads of people or spend more on the day (and my dress!) then id rather spend more money on my day than other people being there hehe x

have a medium sized wedding, same the money for an amazing honeymoon, besides, weddings are more for others, the bride and groom don't get to enjoy it much, too much stress in the planning.

If you have a big wedding, you'll be broke and that will cause strain on your first year of marriage. Have a big one if others are paying for it like you relative, mom, dad, etc.
