How do you know if a guy likes you or if you like him?

I think I might like this guy in my class but I'm not sure if I like him or if he likes me. I think I like him, but I have some mixed feelings. I had a friend kinda ask him and he thinks I like him, but he hasn't done or said anything. My friend thinks he likes me. I don't know if this will help, but he usually messes with me, joking around. I also talk to him through IM about everyday and I usually talk to him in school. Please help.

well if he's a shy guy then he likes u but if he isnt then he doesnt like u. good luck.
