it's really up to what the doctor prefers and how advanced your disease is in terms of liver damage.

if your disease is not in advanced stages, most doctors prefer an NSAID, ie, ibuprofen-which is found in anti-inflammatory medications.

As for Tylenol it works good too, however, it is harder on the liver.

The difference between the two in terms of liver disease is that asprin causes the blood to thin (not good for damage already done by hcv-that is, in advanced liver disease.

Tylenol on the other hand can cause more liver damage if your not careful.

If your not sure which, contact your liver doctor as each really has it's own preferred choice.

good luck.

On an occasional basis, yes. On a regular basis, no.

In large doses, Tylenol can cause liver damage, so if another pain killer is available, use it instead. If/when you are stuck with Tylenol, don't exceed the recommended dosage. That said, pain also stresses your liver, and an occasional use of Tylenol may offer relief.
