No. too much caffiene is not good, and there is caffiene in chocolate, but no other reason not to eat it. as long as most of your food is healthy for you and the baby, a little treat now and then will not hurt.

Good grief, why not? In pregnancy, just as in non pregnant life, unless you're allergic - there is no reason to completely abstain from chocolate. Moderation is the rule - just to maintain a healthy diet.
Also - you can eat chocolate while breast feeding. There is an old wife's tale that it will cause the baby to have diarrhea. Fact is that breast fed babies have soft stool. The concern with chocolate while breast feeding is the caffiene content.
So, have a piece of Dove chocolate, and enjoy.

I haven't heard about chocolate causing any harm to the baby. I think it's just because chocolate has a little caffeine in it. So you should keep your caffeine intake to a minimal. I don't think having a little chocolate during pregnancy would do any harm though.

I ate chocolate throughout my entire pregancy, and basically lived off of it for the last month of my pregnancy... the only draw-back was that my baby was almost 10 pounds.... ouch!!
