Most healthy recipes in magazines and on TV include such icky things as mushrooms, asparagus, spinach, brussel sprouts, raspberries, tofu, and other such things. How can you eat a better diet if you don't like all that stuff?
BTW, I have tried all those foods every way you can fix them. I've tried every safe mushroom known to mankind, every way you can fix them, and I still don't like them.

It is just that you are not use to eating these things. If you try eating very, very little for several days before you try a healthy recipe, then you'll find because you're so hungry the food will taste great.
I had a friend that was in financial trouble because her husband, 2 kids, and herself just ate fast food 3 times a day, every day. When she complained to me and we went over her budget, I pointed that out. She said she could not cook and did not like any veggies at all. I showed her some very simple stews and soups, very basic stuff and told her to add one new thing at a time. Now they eat healthy and well-balanced meals. But their palates had to become accustomed to different tastes.

Try going through the produce department and once (or twice) a week, find something you've never tried before (or haven't eaten in a while - imagine my surprise when I suddenly discovered I like sauerkraut after years of hating it). Go online to figure out how to cook it. You may find something you like.
Try disguising the foods you don't like. Maybe you could try glazed carrots. Get some baby carrots and put them in a saute pan with 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1 cup of water, and 2 tbsp of butter. (Or add some blended green peas to a batch of brownies)
In the meantime, cook the recipes you do like but in as healthy a way as you can.

you have the same problem as most people, you have been led to believe that plastic fake food taste good and that real healthy food is icky. if you really want to eat better start with switching to a whole foods diet and go from there. Whole grains are very important asl well as organic vegetables and meats that are free range and antibiotic free .

Icky, huh? There are plenty of recipes to be found with other healthy ingredients. You're going to have to experiment and find vegetables you like eating. I hear you on the brussel sprouts, but the rest of the things you listed are wonderful ingredients. Keep trying different things and teach your palate to like healthy foods.

I'm right there with you, I don't like Mushrooms or onions and all "Healthy" and "Lite" recipes seem to include both. I usually just leave them out or don't make that recipe, if it's an integral part of the recipe then I probably wouldn't like it anyway.

Forget the healthy magazines ... take the dishes you like and cut back on the fat and calories .. mash your potatoes with a combination of chicken broth and butter instead of butter and heavy cream ... make the veggies you like in olive oil and garlic instead of butter ... eat the fresh fruits you like .. skip the tofu and havea peanut butter sandwich. Don't eat mushrooms if you don't like them. Make a stir fry of the veggies you do like using fresh seasonings and herbs like ginger, garlic, scallions, etc.
Make salads with dressing on the side and use them sparingly .. and most importantly...
EXCERCISE.
There's a lot more to good health than what you find in a magazine. But for the record ... I LOVE all that stuff that you think is icky.

I have found that if I only have food that I dislike I eat alot less. Also in time you will find that your taste buds will change and you will acquire a taste for these foods, so don't give up. A candy bar will allways sound better than a carrot this is where self discipline comes in. Good Luck

There are plently of healtfull options to replace those items. Do you have any idea how many fruits and veggie exist!!! Also...lean protein is out there. Most meats are trimmed extremely well these days to offer better options. Poke around your grocery store. Trust me, you will find something.
