Jesus was God manifested in the Flesh.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2The same was in the beginning with God.

3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Jesus is the son of God, sent by his Heavenly Father, but Jesus and God work together (along with the Holy Ghost) as One

Jesus Christ has two natures: human and divine in hypostatic union. Jesus Christ is God in human flesh. He is not half God and half man. He is fully divine and fully man. In the single person of Jesus Christ is both a human and divine nature. These two natures in Jesus are not "mixed together," nor are they combined to form a hybrid God-man nature. The two natures are separate, remain unchanged by the union; yet act as a unit in the one Person of Jesus Christ. The Hypostatic Union affirms that the eternal Son of God, the Logos, took on Himself humanity.

Most people will accept that Jesus Christ was fully human. But how did Christians get the idea that Jesus is also fully divine - God? There are several lines of Scriptural proof that indicate the divinity of Jesus Christ:

(1) He possesses the attributes of deity:
a. Omnipresence: For example, Jesus told His disciples: “… where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them (Matt. 18:20).
b. Omniscience: Jesus displayed omniscience (Jn. 16: 30; 21: 17), especially with respect to the hearts of men and who the Father was drawing to Him (Mk. 2: 8; Jn. 2: 25).
c. Omnipotence: He calmed the winds and the waves of the sea; walked on water; performed various miracles.
d. Eternality: Isaiah said of the Messiah that He is “Everlasting Father;” and Micah said of Him, “His.. goings forth have been
from of old, from everlasting.” Jesus Himself stated: “Before Abraham was, I am.”
e. mmutability: Hebrews states, “Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and for ever" (Heb. 13: 8).

(2) He holds the offices of deity:
a. Creator of the universe (Jn. 1:1 -3; Col. 1:16; Heb. 1:10).
b. Sustainer and governor of the universe (Col. 1:17; Heb. 1:3).

(3) He exercises the prerogatives of deity:
a. Forgiving sins (Mk. 2: 10-11; Matt. 16:19;
18:18; Jn. 20: 23).
b. Raising the dead (Jn 5:21, 25?27; 6:40; etc.).
c. Executing judgment (Jn 5:22; 2 Cor 5:10).

(4) He bears the names and titles of God: Lord (Rom 10: 9; etc.); Alpha and Omega (Rev. 22:13); Immanuel (Matt. 1:22?23); Logos (John 1:1?5); God (John 1:1, 18); Son of God (John 10:36; 20:31); Holy One (Mk. 1:24; John 6:69; etc.); Savior (Matt. 1:21; Lk. 2:30; Jn. 1:29; 4:42; etc.); I AM (Jn. 8:58; etc.)

(5) He receives worship:
a. He was worshipped by His disciples.
b. He is worshipped in New Testament doxologies (Rom. 9: 5; 2 Pet 3: 18).
c. Prayers are offered to him (Acts 7:59 - 60).

(6) He made claims to deity:
a. Before the Sanhedrin (Matt 26: 63 – 66).
b. Before a group of Jews and Pharisees (John 8:56 - 59).

I hope this helps.

im thinking of a word /the word is with[in] me as i write it
and the word is god
what word am i thinking?
give you a hint its got three letters
the middle letter is o,
a clue is he has a son
son has an o too ,god is eternal and omnipresent ,he is within all life
life is a sign of the word but as god was the word why could any put a son before he
look at me and see jesus ,im not saying im jesus im saying god is god ,but i am trying to be like god as much as any man can be an eternal.
the word says ,that god is the word ,god[the word] was in the beginning just as all words were yet with god in the beginning,
through the god was everything made
everthing includes his son
his son realising his high birth did good ,had grace ,was loving neighbour in fact to see the son was /as if /seeing the father,
in fact he is thouht/reported to have said 'see me doing that i do is seeing that which my father does'

gods son said the things you see me do you will do greater
as we are men
and god is yet greater than all men ,being greater than the greatest man is not being greater than god

ye shalt have no god before god ,nor son
who is not a sun of the father of creation
see anybody see god ,but the way to god is to be doing that we know his son did

anger isnt going to change peoples mind nor words
allowing god being killed by the spawn of evil is too absurd for words ,god dying before two criminals die on a cross is a plain absurdity.
unless god is less than man a further absurdity
its absurd thats why we get angry but hold it back of love of god and his son our /mans greatest teacher.

i have asked many christians if jesus isnt god would you yet believe in god
and they say no,
why any one would like to go to that part of heaven where the christ incarnate flesh has higher worth than spirit
no i just cant see it
forgive them father they are con=fused. ,too close to the fire to see that they say ,its not you confused its christ some would own ,
no flesh and blood can be The GOD>creater of flesh ,of dust and water ,infused with god spirit [life] sustained by the light of the sun.
being children many needed the milk yet staying with the childish need of the milk of a flesh and blood man and not god ,is a thing we leave behind when we all become children of the one true god.

Jesus is the Son of God, and the Creator-God... see John 1.

Jesus is the son of God.

2007-01-13 12:44:22 · answer #9 · answered by elle 2 · 4 1

Both... the "son of God" language is strictly metaphorical, however. It mirrors the political/rhetorical title "son of God" that was conferred upon Roman emperors subsequent to Julius Caesar, beginning with Caesar Augustus.

The doctrine of the Trinity as defined at Nicea declares that Jesus and God are of the same substance as one another, but that they have different... something... I don't remember. Personalities, I guess.
