Your body goes six feet under or in an incinerator...your spirit, if saved, goes to heaven and receives a resurrection body.

We receive a new, perfect and pure body upon entering the Kingdom of heaven.
There will always be different interpretations of the Bible sadly, it can weaken Christianity as whole, but not our faith. For God is within us, we are the temple, made in his image. He gave us freewill, some may see that as a mistake and it can be a weakness, but it also makes us limitless. Do you think that Adam, while lying in the Garden of Eden, ever thought we would fly someday? Or cross great nations?
Disagreements and open dialog, makes it possible for us to get closer to the truth.
So you see, it's not that we haven't reached an agreement necessarily, it's that we're not perfect, and we're still learning what makes us children of God. It's those questions that help find out what we truly believe because it's truth or if we believe because its popular.
Do you understand what I'm saying?

Each person who reads the same scripture can get something different from the same scripture because we are all different individual's.If you read the Bible and rightly divide it like it says you will learn what the Spirit of God wants to tell you.In one verse it says we are asleep in Jesus when we die,not walking around in heaven.Read Revelation" there is a new Heaven and Earth coming down.We were made as earth dwellers. We are promised a new body when we rise from our grave or are alive when Jesus return's.The agreement that is needed is in the spirit.

That is the reason for the Bible. People are sheep they follow anything that will feed their desires. If someone twists the scripture the way they want to hear it, they will regurgitate what they have heard. But the bible still remains true. To answer you sort of question. Both the body and spirit will be in heaven. First the spirit, then after the resurrection, the body.

You make a good point. So, If you really want to know the answers, then read and study the Bible yourself. Rely on God to tell you not man. There is no absolute agreement within many religions which is why they break aprt and start new things all the time. Its becuz we are human beings and we all have our own thoughts and stuff... the BIble is the truth- many just do not read it and study it- like you- but make assumptions and observations and then, yes, confuse others even more. Becuz we are people not God.

I do not believe this earthly body will go to heaven. I do believe, as a scientist that there is something beyond this life. Life is energy. The law of conservation of energy states that energy cannot be created or destroyed. While it can be transformed from one form to another, the total amount of energy in the universe remains constant. Scientists in all fields, including astronomy, biology, chemistry, physics, and Earth science use this idea every day: The total amount of energy remains constant no matter what changes happen in any physical system. With this premise, when we die, the energy that was our life goes on to another form, thus life after death.

the bible isn't the basis for christianity, Jesus Christ is the one and only basis.
As for the bible, it is written in semantics. What it means depends on the person reading it. So it is obvious why 2 different people would think 2 different things.
Also, the bible is actually different, depending on which version or translation you are reading.
So my question for you is... before you start asking ridiculous and redundant questions why don't you read the bible yourself?Maybe you would have a chance in a battle of wits??

First of all, if anyone here is worshipping a book, ther is a serious issue. Secondly, everyone has a different opinion and a different agenda. Lastly, most peopl just want to be heard without expending any thought. It's cruel, but it's true.

Regardless of where 2 or more christians agree, it's your responsibility to read and hear the word for yourself. Don't worry about do they agree or not, that is your first misunderstanding about Christianity or any other religion for that matter.

Flesh doesnt enherit the Kingdom of God but we (or at least I) believe that that those judged righteously will be raised in glorified, non-corruptable bodies like Christ has. Still our spirit, but not this flesh.
