My cat climbs into my bed every night and starts chewing on my stuffed animals. Why, and is this normal?

It may be that it feels good on her gums. Have you had her vet check her mouth to ensure that there are no problems?

It is normal for some cats, although it is not particularly common. She may also be sucking on the stuffed animals as she did on her mother when she was a kitten.

My cat climbs in bed with me every night, but I've never had a cat try to eat my stuffed animals...

Cat who were taking away from their mom at a too early age didn't get weaned properly and they may hold on to these early kitten behaviors such as kneading with their paws or suckling on things. It isn't harmful but just shows that they were too young when seperated from the mom which teaches the young up to a certain age specific behaviors. It is comforting to the cat to do it, you can see by their eyes-they tend to get glazed and stare off into space when they do either.

I think it's normal if it is a kitten or very young. When my cat was a kitten she would always go on my pillow above my head & mesh in my hair, Ithink she is just playing anyways I don't think there's anything wrong, don't worry or maybe she jealous of your stuffed animals,

Entirely normal, your kitty is playing. Does he (or she?) grab onto them and roll over and over with them? Or just dig in? Either way, it's stalking/hunting behavior, but a playful impulse. Unless your kitty is swallowing bits of stuffing, I wouldn't worry. Just be glad it's not you being chewed on-my mother's cat bites her when he wants water, food or attention in the middle of the night. And I mean bites-draws blood.

I think that is fairly normal, but not completely. My cats like to chew on ponies and anything else with long hair(including barbies). It may also smell like something that it either likes, wants to eats, or wants to prey on.

I hpoe this makes you feel a little better abour your cats behavior.

because the cat can, and just give it a slight thunk on the head(go gentle though)and/or a squirt of water works just as well too, and a firm NO, it will stop and yes this is very normal for kitties.

I have a 7 year old tabby who does that sort of thing all the time. It's actually sucking and they do it to comfort themselves...It's pretty much like a kid sucking their thumb. Nothing to worry about - it's completely normal.
