I have a customer that while he was leaving the store, admitted he has leprosy but was on anti-biotics at the time. He came in and I handled his cash, and touched his laptop. I probably only came as close to him as 2 feet, for only about 2 or so minutes talking to him. I have washed my hands immediately afterwards. Is it usually possible for me to contract leprosy, even though it would most likely be dormant in me. Also, if it is possible, should I tell a doctor about it or is it only treatable once the symptoms manifest themselves? Thanks

Nope.

Mycobaterium leprae (the organism that causes leprosy) is actually not that easy to contract; it's not as infectious as people think. For immunological reasons, only a relatively small proportion of the population is actually susceptible to infection (somewhere around 10% I think).

Even if you were infected (although I would be VERY surprised if it was connected to the described exposure), it's curable.

Hope this helps.

call one in all of your individuals that has a cat and ask who they use for his or her vet. call and make an appointment with yet another vet than the only you said and get in to work out the vet at their first accessible appointment. He has some type of skin condition that they want to discern out. Do it asap so it could be cured or managed earlier it receives worse.
