Both hands are bothering me, they are very tender to the touch. If I even bump them against something, it hurts badly. It almost feels as if they are bruised or have been smashed with something. Very, very, tender and very weak now. I don't know if it's a problem with the joints or if it might be arthritis or what. None of my other fingers hurt, just seems to be along the sides of the thumbs and the puffy part under the thumbs (on the palm). Any ideas?

I had a similar problem over three years ago...I went to an orthopedic doctor who specialized in hand problems, and I was diagnosed with DeQuervain's tendonitis. The doc gave me a cortisone injection in the wrist (ouch!) and prescribed Celebrex for me to take as needed. This particular type of tendonitis affects the tendons that run between the thumb and the wrist, and you won't feel any pain in any other parts of the affected hand.

I would recommend going to an orthopedic hand specialist for an accurate diagnosis...my problem was tendonitis, but the symptoms could also be caused by arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome. In the meantime, you can research more on this by googling keywords like "hand and wrist pain", "DeQuervain's tendonitis", "carpal tunnel", and other hand-related ailments. You can learn a lot from the internet...just don't rely on it for a diagnosis!

Could be carpal tunnel or arthritis both of which can be cured with medication and therapy early on. You should see your doctor for diagnoses. You don't want to end up letting it go too long and lose the use of your thumbs. Good luck, hope this helped. Claire

diverse nurses have diverse suggestions and methods of putting needles and so on. and a few are greater efficient at it than others. that must be my first wager, perchance the Nurse replaced into green or purely having a sprint bit concern that day. it could additionally of purely been a sprint bit a extraordinary, a million in a million concern with the IV itself. confusing to assert, notwithstanding it is not probable a extensive concern anymore, because of the fact that's all interior the previous, and that i doubt it had any direct correlation with the hemorrhage.

It might be arthritis or carpel tunnel syndrome. Or if you have a Blackberry or similar device, that could be causing your problem too.
