I polish my knob on a regular basis. Hardly a day goes by that I don't polish my knob. If I do forget I make sure I polish my knob last thing before I go to sleep. Hmmm brass you say well Brasso is ok but I use a product called Auto Wenol or Semi Chrome.

If they're NOT solid brass (finish has worn off)
Brasso will do NO good. Only give you arthritis symptoms.
(very young adults may have that much energy to spend on a knob)
You'll have to remove them, take them to a powder-coating facility (bargain with them; one of them will be reasonable, usually) but they won't be brass, then.

Brasso. The antique people recommend leaving them as they are. They are your knobs.
