As a mom of 3 year old twins, a 5 year old and a 9 month old I suggest making puppets out of old socks. They can wear them on their hands and arms. This will keep them occupied and not wanting to scratch so much.

I work at a learning center and a tent is always a huge hit for everyone! ask the boys to help clean a large enough area for a tent in the house...(living room, bedroom, playroom) and also include them in making the tent. You can use the tent all day long... play candyland inside, have a picnic during lunch w/ sandwiches and chips, read books and you may even get them to take a nap in the tent!

How about making forts around the living room or bedrooms with sheets, blankets, pillows, cushions? Or gathering the summer out-door toys and playing with them in a basement or garage - if warm enough!
