I have been riding for 12 years, and am only 18, I have had to work on my legs throughout my riding career because the muscles you do get end up in the wrong places and look like fat. The best muscles you get rom riding are your abs, some thighs, and upper arm and shoulder. I also have incredible grip I've been told. If you take up riding for the strength training, take up something else to balance it out

Yes, horseback riding on a regular basis does tone up your legs and abdomen very well.

Yea since you mostly use your legs to ride i imagine they will get toned, as least mine did.

you mean strong? yes. but my legs are sore now. the show team had a game night on friday.
