Is it possible for a good muslim to never have entered a mosque or learned a lick of Arabic?

I mean, suppose one accepts the prophet's teachings, gives to charity, observes Ramadan. Is he still of the faith?

Suppose he has no inclination to go to Mecca at the moment.

Well, if that person calls him/herself a Muslim, believes in the tennants of Islam, and professes the declaration of faith (shahadah) to God, then he is, by Islamic standards, a Muslim.

How "good" of a Muslim he is depends on his relationship with God, because only God can judge him.

As salaam walikum,

To proceed...

All knows best what is in your heart.
He is closer to you then your jugular vein.

Allah does not intend you any hardship, ie learning the arabic, but there is reward in doing so...

There are Ten Rewards for Every Letter Recited from the Quran

As a Hadeeth (prophetic statement) in At-Tirmithi proves: “Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allaah, he will have a reward, and this reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that 'Alif, Laam, Meem' (a combination of letters frequently mentioned in the Holy Quran) is a letter, rather I am saying that 'Alif' is a letter, 'Laam' is a letter and 'Meem' is a letter.” [At-Tirmithi] So increase your recitation of the Quran to gain these merits, as well as the following ones.

offering a prayer in a congregation enhances our reward. The Prophet says that praying with the congregation earns 27 times the reward of the same prayer offered individually. Since every one of us is always in need of greater reward from Allah, we should be keen to offer our obligatory prayers in the mosque with the congregation.

InshaAllah, Allah will guide us all on the path of Al-Islam.Ameen.

the Hajj - is an obligation only for those who are physically and financially able to perform it. Say InshaAllah, we the time is right, then go...inshaAllah.

Well as a Muslim brother it is your duty to go to Friday prayers at the mosque. The rest of the time it is perfectly permissible to pray at home, but if you can the intention to go to Friday pray is a must. As for Arabic well we all have to pray in Arabic no matter what country we are from or what language we speak. I'm a Scottish Muslim and did not grow up in a Muslim family never spoke a word of Arabic before reverting over 2 years ago, but i had to learn to pray in Arabic its not that hard, so why cant you make the effort? You are still of the faith brother no one but Allah can judge you, but if you are going to follow the faith its not for us to pick and choose which bits suits our lifestyle and which don't. You don't have to have the inclination to go to Mecca at the moment as long as you have the intention to do it at some point in your life if and when you can afford it, it is after all one of the 5 pillars.
I suggest brother you go to your local mosque, have a private talk with the Imam ask him on some advice and Insha Allah you knowledge and faith increase. Peace to you, your sister.

It is obligatory for a muslim to go to Mecca once in their lifetime. My mother is gonna be back from Mecca tomorrow and I am so happy about it.I am gonna immolate a lamb and give away the meat to the needy and homeless.I wish someday i would also go on the Pilgimmage and feel the greatness of God in my bones. It is amazing to go around Kaabe with people of all colors and feel the same emotions, the same ideals, all brothers and sisters. It is the pinnacle of selfnessness, where the "Big Me" dies in you.and you become every body else.

Salam Alikeum Muslim Brothers and Sisters,

May Allah give you reward on helping this brother out , InshAllah. I just wanted to add that you need to make du'aa. Pray to Allah (in any language) and ask him for guidance. If you ask Allah for guidance, and you Sincerely know he will give you guidance, then know that InshAllah you will get it.
As the muslim sister said above, you dont have to pray in the mosque (but the men should; if they can). Pray at home. Pray in short raqa'aat even. While your making sojood, pray to Allah (ask for guidance). And WaAllahi brother, Allah will give you guidance InshAllah.
Wasalam Alikeum

May the Peace, Blessings and Mercy of God be upon you

Well, you don't not need to be an Arabic Scholar but you must know and understand how to pray. Congregational prayer is a must, especially the Friday prayer so you must attend the Mosque. You have to learn to pray that IS THE BEST DEED.

Narrated 'Abdullâh bin Mas'ûd [radhi-yAllâhu 'anhu]: I asked Allâh's Messenger [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] , "O Allâh's Messenger! What is the best deed?" He replied, "To offer the Salât (prayers) at their early stated fixed times."

If you are financially capable of doing so, you are obliged to go on Hajj at least once. It doesn't mean you have to go right now.

But I do suggest you start learning to pray, and read the Qu'ran in English to strengthen your faith.

Please check this site, it shows how to pray in Animation with the Transliteration of what you have to say.

Peace Be With You

And God knows best.

Prayer is read in Arabic and a Muslim has to learn it to recite it. Although a new Muslim may still recite the prayer in his own language since he/she does not know Arabic yet.

A person also has to perform Hajj in his life (if he is able to), so it is pretty much required for him to go to Mecca.

May Peace Mercy and Blessings of Allah(swt)be on all of you.

Well i can tell you the critaria mentioned by Allah(swt) in teh Qur'an to enter Jannah and than you can decide for your self brother.

Critaria to go to jannah:

the critaria to go to jannah (heaven) is mentioned in the Holly Quran in ch:113 v:1-3." by the token of time man is varily in the state of loss, accept those who have faith, those who has ritious deeds, those call people towards the truth and those who call people towards patience and percieverence."

Allah (swt) also says in Nisa CH:4 V: 48 AND V:116"VARILY aLLAH WILL NEVER FORGIVE SHIRK (ASSOCIATING PARTNERS WITH HIM)"

The first Quote GIves you a general critaria mentioned in Quran to enter jannah. but Allah also says that he may forgive any other sin (if he wishes and pleases) but he will never forgive the sin of Shirk(associating partners with him).

So to be successful in this test for FTERLIFE WE HAVE TO FOLLOW THE 4 POINT CRITARIA IN CH:113 AND AT THE LEAST AVOID DOING SHIRK.

I hope this wil help you in understanding the concept.

May Peace Mercy and Blessings of Allah(swt) be on all of you.

Salam Alaykum

Among the Prophet's teachings is to go to the Mosque and pray in congregation.

Salah is one of the five pillars of Islam.

And learning Arabic might not be necessary, but it only helps you (a lot)
