Yes as said above, why can't you? lol. Maybe she has never had them - she obviously doesnt know how to make them.

Four heaped tablespoons self raising flour
Two heaped tablespoons Atora Suet (beef)
pinch of salt.

Stir in cold water a little at a time til you have a stiff but sticky dough. When the potatoes start to boil, drop the dough gently on top of the lightly simmering mince or stew, in four blobs, doesnt matter if they sink a little. Put a lid on the pan! When the potatoes are ready, the dumplings will be too.
ps. My granny always put chopped parsley in hers, was really nice, or you could try chives or other herbs.

tell her to buy "greens dumpling mix" if she lives in the UK,i make wicked dumplings,(out of a packet),add the recommended amount of water(may need a little more)roll the dumpling mix in a little flour, but dont handle the mixture too much, pop it in the boiling pan,and hey presto, gorgeous dumplings,i'm only 26 but my fiance and children think my dumplings(food wise ha ha) are divine.i helped my mum in the kitchen all the time when she made lobby(beef stew to other people)

dude I honestly have the best and simplest recipe in the world for dumplings...
Boil one whole Chicken for two hours...
the meat will fall off of the bone..

THIS SHOULD SAVE YOUR MARRIAGE!

take two cups of flour
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 medium eggs
5 tablespoon of real butter
1/2 cup of milk or 1/2 cup of half and half
mix all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl...
roll out onto a floured cutting board..to about 1/4 of an inch thickness...
cut into diamond shapes with a pizza cutter...

de bone the chicken add to a deep pan in about ten cups of water
stew pot works best.
add one cup off chicken broth and two to three knorr's chicken bullion cubes..at least three.
bring to a rapid boil....
add two teaspoons of parsley flakes and one teaspoon of celery seed. If you like celery add one cup of fine chopped celery... at to the boiling water..when then celery is tender that is your clue to add the diamond shaped flour into the rapid boiling water..
drop only a few at a time...don't just throw them all in. ad them slowly...when they float to the top they are done...they should change to a yellow color..
after you have reached the end of you dumplings cooking it should start to naturally thicken at this point ..
Now here's the best part of the secret...ADD 1 AND 1/2 CUPS OF REAL CREAM TO THE MIXTURE..
DO NOT COOK FOR VERY LONG...
at this point you should remove it from the heat...
you don't want to scorch the cream...

Shortcuts....use chicken breast already boned if you don't want the hassle of bones...but you should use some boned thieghs or legs.....dark meat gives the richer flavor needed for dumplings.

If you really wan't to make it easier....use canned chickem meat but make sure it contains both white and dark meat...
* never use can bisquit dough if you want great dumplings...the longer they sit the more they fall apart...
* If her dumplings don't get better after this receipe, leave her...!
kidding!.

dumplings are the easiest thing. Mix self-rising flour with milk until you get a soft dough. Drop spoonfuls into hot soup or stew and let cook for about 5-10 min. There you go and they are great!! hard to mess that up

I love dumplings, my mum used to make the best ones, mmm!! You can get packet mixes then all you have to do is add water, there really easy to use. If i can do it anyone can. You can get them in any supermarket or corner shop.

Good Luck :-) xx

Ah!! Don't call her that.
4oz SR flour 2oz beef suet mix with water to a stiff paste. place in hot oven approx. 20 min. makes four good size ones.

Why don't you try and make some and see who makes the best ones?
