What do you think about nose picking:
1. Disgusting habit, should never be done
2. Only okay with handkerchief and in private
3. Okay to pick nose with fingernail in private and properly disposed of in a tissue
3. Okay to pick and flick
4. Okay to pick and eat
5. Okay to pick in public
6. Okay to pick and eat in public
7. Good healthy thing to do
Does it matter whether it is you doing it, or whether it's a friend or stranger?
I'll tell you what I do at the end!

I look at it as both cleanliness and relaxation. I'll pick my nose and flick when I'm relaxing. I also will pick my nose in the loo and wipe it on toilet paper and put it down the loo. Occasionally I'll eat it, if it looks worth while. I do like to clean out my nostrils, I can feel dried snot in there and want to get it out, and blowing just never does it, it's always too dried out. So I consider picking a necessity. I never do it in public though.

Realistically, people who say it is completely disgusting are most likely complete hypocrites. I pick my nose if I have a huge booger. If people are watching I will cover my nose so no one sees. It is not the same as picking your ***. So my vote is 7. PS What have I done to deserve such a wonderful question?

I did when I was a kid but you know how mums are about "disgusting habits". I kind of did it descretely when I was at home on my own to begin with but my boyfriend always sits picking his nose and eating it so I thought I may as well give in to my natural instincts. We usually both end up picking after dinner and it seems a pretty normal thing to do now.
The fact that children do it instictively means it's probably a natural and useful thing to do. They bite their nails because that's what people used to do before we had cutting devices and when they eat bread, one of the reasons they're so disgusted by eating the crusts is that it's also a natural instinct for humans to not want to eat something they've been holding in they're hands.
Obviously the child grows up, realises that the reason they don't like crusts is that they're chewy and unfashionable, has it's nails cut by mummy and spends the next few years being told off for biting nails, not eating crusts and nose picking until they start to think that this is the natural order of things.
I wouldn't pick anyone elses though and I wouldn't want anyone to pick mine unless it was somekind of nasal emergency!

Gross for anyone who catches you doing it.
However, everyone does it - even those who think its gross when you do it.
You know what - I take a crap daily and so do you - totally normal. I would consider it not disgusting, but rude if you put me in a position to watch or listen to you discuss the intricacies of the act and the constancy of the product - whether booger or turd.
Its not the act, its the when and where aspect that makes it either ok or abhorrent. Shouldn't that be common sense?

i think it's something everyone does...tho i dont want to see everyone doing it-bodily secretions are just gross, and unsanitary....ideally you pick and dispose of in a tissue, but i think alot of people are occasional flickers ...
i live in the desert and in the desert you tend to get these really hard/crunchy/sharp boogers that can ONLY be dislodged by picking-seriously, blowing your nose doesn't cut it cuz they are DRY....and just for the heck of it i'll share this personal bit......
i have a wierd sleep habit where i pick my nose in my sleep!!, i'm totally not aware that i do it and it's totally embarrassing!!

If you have a encrusted nose its hygenic to cldan nose with tissue and then dispose of it-why tissue ? SO as not to get germs from nails fingers into nose and lessen the possibility of bacterial infection. To pick ones nose in public or in front of someone else is not only bad manners but also disrespectful to the other person, people. I plain hate anyone doing it around me-shows total disrespect and also shows the person is without self respect.

Pick in private and discard it in a tissue or wash it at a sink. It's good to pick, otherwise you nose will be uncomfortable.
