barbecue if the weather permits, or maybe a pot roast if you must cook indoors.

Lasagna is always a favorite and actually relatively easy to make. Buy a large container of Ragu Chunky Garden Style Sauce, about 1.5 lbs of ground beef, one onion, 16oz Ricotta cheese, 3 eggs, salt, 2 lbs Mozzarella, 1 pack of lasagna noodles and a deep lasagna foil pan. Brown the ground beef with the onion (chopped, of course) and mix with the sauce. In a small bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, eggs & some salt. In the foil pan, spoon in a small layer of sauce, top with UNCOOKED lasagna noodles, then with ricotta, then mozzarella, then noodles, then sauce. Then repeat layers starting with noodles until the pan is full, be sure to save about a cup of mozzarella. Cook at 350 covered for about an hour and a half, take out and sprinkle the remaining mozzarella. Put it back in the oven uncovered until the cheese is golden brown. Serve hot with a fresh salad and garlic bread. Red wine would be nice too.

hi ashley!
if it's ur first dinner party, i would go with something ez like lasagna... if u know everyone eats meat. this allows u 2 cook in advance and be able to socialize... no pressure on u cooking while everyone is there.
serve with a mixed green salad, and some yummy bread. if your company enjoys wine, then a bottle or two of chianti is the bomb.
whatever u do... don't forget dessert... something sweet... i like a hot cookie with ice cream on top... berries and ice cream also a healthier alternative.
