With the exception of instinctive behavior (eat, breath, poop, etc...) a child's mind is a blank slate. One doesn't have a concept of ANYTHING until its taught to them. So, to answer the question, everyone is born an atheist, and its atheism in its purist form.

No. Actually, the opposite is true. While all people are not necessarily born Christian, they ALL (even those living in remote African tribes) are born with an intuition that tells them that there IS a creator. They are just born with a sense and understanding that they, and the world they are born into, had to have been created by something or someone. What they choose to believe is this creator is where religion comes in. They can either choose, if exposed to it, to believe in Christianity, or some other religion, or, they can simply ignore this intuition they possess and choose to be atheist. Just becasue someone is athesit, it does not mean that they were not created by a loving God, it simply means that they refuse to believe it.
The reason that God is not only real but also the most popular religion is because of what people read in "that silly book"-- The Bible. The Bible was not merely "made up" by a bunch of people hundreds of years ago so they could get a kick out of people reading it. Read this, not only a religious explanation, but a HISTORICAL (science definitely does not mean religion, these are PURE FACTS) reference to the wonderful truth of the Bible:
"God gave the words that are in teh Bible by working in the minds of his chosen writers. Then these men wrote down what he wanted. The Bible contains 66 books written by 40 authors at various points in history. Many of the "books" are actually letters. If you know a mathematician, ask him or her the probability of 66 separate documents, written over a period of 1500 years by 40 different authors, not having any contradicitions. He'd have to conclude what you've described is mathematically impossible. Yet that is what God did as he wrote and arranged the Bible." In addition, I cannot even begin to tell you of the historical (archaeological, geological, etc.) evidence found that proves the Bible and its stories to be true.
Yes, you are right that most people's religion comes from what they are taught by others. Unfortunately, there are many people in the world who are not exposed to the good news of Christianity and therefore do not understand its principles. This does not, however, underestimate in the least bit the truth or grace of God. I pray that you are able to find that truth that is so fulfilling.

Technically, everyone is born an agnostic: one without knowledge of god or any of the related mythology. (Muslims claim that everyone is born a Muslim, but that is patently silly.) Usually, one learns whatever religious beliefs one has from one's parents, and the majority of people have neither the time nor the intellectual horsepower to examine those beliefs in detail to see whether they make sense. My parents were nominally Christian, but I found when I was eight years old that the bible tales could not be reconciled with science, and since science is obviously right (it works!), the bible had to go. I have, of course, sharpened my scientific tools since then, and none of the religions which I have examined have survived such scrutiny. (This includes all flavors of Christianity, and Islam.)

Yes. An easy way to demonstrate this is to ask someone (of any age) if they believe in any obscure god, such a Kali (Southern India), or Lubare (Central Africa). If they do not, then by definition they are atheist with respect to that particular god. But why is it safe to assume that they have always been atheist with respect to such gods? Because they have never learned about them.

NO- God created each of us with an emptiness in our hearts that can only be filled with Him. That silly book as you called it is God's love letter to us. He loves us so much , even being sinners, that His plan included sending His Son to die for the whole world- we have a choice whether we will live with Him or not. God is the one that seeks us out.

Sorry you are wrong. Everyone is born Muslim whether you know it or not. Every animal worships God too. It is your nature, what is the first thing you call out in a time of trouble whatever your religion or no religion at all? "Oh God please help" This is because even without you knowing it your spirit reverts to its natural state. Like it or not people believed in God since the first man and woman on earth not just from a "silly book". You interpret it however you like. But the truth cannot be denied.

Kinda...when I was young and up till about 8 or 9 I knew there was a God but I didn't really think anything of it and then at around 14 I started to concept it and then just about a year ago I really got it and now I believe I am saved.

Before i went into foster care I had no idea there was a thing called God. My biological parents were too busy shooting up drugs and beating the crap out of me and killing my sister to teach me I guess. So I was ten or so the first time I heard about it. I asked if my sister who had died would go to heaven. The children's church lady asked "Was she saved?" and I said "Well... no, she died, no one saved her" and the lady got really angry and was like "Was she baptized?" and I was like "No...what is that?" and she looked at me like I took a crap on the rug. Then she said "Well, if she wasn't saved and you two were born out of wedlock, then she went to hell and so will you unless you accept Jesus"
Then she had us color sheets with little angels and harps on them, after she told me to shut up and stop crying.
Ah, religion!
I'm really glad I had those few years when the only torment I had to worry about was what was going to happen when the latest boyfriend of my mother stumbled in. Some of us have experienced hell on earth and don't need any 'bonus' hell when we die.

everyone is born a person, to call them an atheist still brings up religion because atheists refute religion, they acknowledge the concept of religion but brush it off, but as an infant, your mind and conscience hasn't even fully developed, you are completely unaware of the concept of a higher being

society has had such an impact with religion, there is not one person in the world who doesn't know the concept of god, even those who don't believe in it know what it is, I really wonder what the world would have been like if society had imposed the view of no god, the concept of god would be seen as the ridiculous thing, what would the world be like then?

A child is born not conceiving of such matters. It has no positive belief; not about anything. Therefore, the child is neither theist, nor atheist, nor agnostic, all requiring certain belief structures to be defined. I would say the child is purely empirical.

Actually quite the opposite.
We are born with the emptiness that can only be filled by restoring our broken relationship with GOD.
If you reject the Bible that's fine, but now what are you basing your beliefs on?
I went out with a psychotic Christian hating badly messed up Wiccan high priestess who teaches at Auburn University. Her spiritual life was in shambles even for something as eclectic as the Pagan movement. This could be one of the very people you are basing your spiritual beliefs on now. She loves to "straighten out the brainless lost sheep of GOD". It's scary when you start to really think about how we know what we know. How do you know what you know brother? What "other people" are your source for your knowledge? I know my source. It's GOD through the Holy Spirit who teaches me all things.
