Girls that are pretty get left out by other girls and end up with guys for friends. It has its advantages. Hope your son knows if he can trust her. You said she is decent, so he probably can.
Girls probably hate her for being better than them.
Guys probably like having a pretty friend.

Their alot of girls who have just guy friends. They sometimes are just considered one of the guys and are more comfortable around guys.
