im not very familiar with christianity, but aren't you supposed to judged by god when armageddon happens. from my understanding, armageddon wont happen for a while now. if this is true, why do chrisitans say saints and relatives are in heaven looking down upon us? shouldnt all dead people be rotting in the ground instead of being judged?

First of all, no one knows when the world would end, even if you read the whole book of revelations, there is no date in which it should happen.
When we die our humanly bodies stay on earth, but your soul goes into heaven or hell .
When Jesus comes to judge us, he will judge whether we should go body and soul into heaven.

Our bodies remain in the ground, but our spirit goes up or down depending on the person and the choice they make about salvation. Then the Great white throne of judgement is after armageddon and Jesus has returned to the earth.

swedenberg revealed /witnessed the judgment day of heaven and hell ,the heavens and hells are timeless ,a thousand years can seem as if but this morning ,or one second can feel an eterity,
there has /is being put a flesh based spin on much we are told, and indeed read ,jesus told us we will be baptised by fire
a baptism means an 8 day old child,8 days from his born again christian being in the heaven or the hells ,
yet people ascribe being born again as mearly seeing the light ,according the grace and goodness of the christ to mean all mans sins be forgiven , which they are ,but not because of christ but our father grace as revealed of the christ.
the armageddon occured over a thousand years ago [on the armageddon plains]
god accords each incarnation equal wage [grace]
science informs energy can neither be created nor destroyed,
meaning that electric memory [flesh foot print ] that is you allways remains you [your soul] it covers [clothes] our spirit ,just as the flesh clothe the soul/spirit
spirit allways was ,soul is if you like a record of your life being ,the soul gets judged [sloughed off like a butterflys chrisialus or a snake shedding skin ] some can call it dying others death ,others of freewill a rebirth or a simple moult ,yet others call it judgement day,
there isno judgement in truth it is best called karma day or harvest fall ,our loves drag us down or raise us up by the good and ill they resulted ,its not a debate its our wages, by gods grace we are saved eternally but we choose where
its rather neat or not depending on what part od heaven or hell you happen to be made to be your home,
the vivisectionist hell appears a typical egsample an eternity of pain [wages] of grace but guess who's being vivi-sectioned
oh how they wish to be rotting in the ground ,that occurs in the re-incarnation pits of hell ,for those fallen so low only rebirth can end thier pain.
figured if people would only comprehend the real hell they might do someone a good turn or stop thier evil passions and save them selves
of grace god allows each sinner to redeem thier sins by acts of repentance [doing good to others ,not self flagulation or self cencure ,but doing /helping others] ie loving neighbour feeling love healing not hurting ,life eternal [that cant be hurt for eternity]
but by our will to hurt others ,or judge others

Armageddon is the end of everything.
People die all the time, and GOD judges them as each dies, determining their final resting place.
You accidental merged the two in your thinking.
Jesus went to Hell to insure everyone that has died gets judged by GOD, so the two are different.

Ecc 12:6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
Ecc 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

1Co 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

When Jesus rose from the dead he "set the captives free" that were in the same place as the souls of the wicked that had died.

The righteous dead are now with Christ in heaven.

The unrighteous dead are tethered to the earth until the present creation is cast into the lake of fire.

The physical body is rotting. The soul and spirit are somewhere. When the resurrection happens, the physical bodies will be raised, and the soul and spirit will re-unite with the body.

Some are rotting, yes; but others are having fun with Jesus.

For example, the Baptist church made a special deal with Jesus, whereby all their members can do a holy incantation and get saved spontaneously, without ever waiting for the Judgment Day.

Then when they die, they go directly to Heaven.

Whereas, if you belong to another church, or if you don't believe in Jesus you will be sent to Hell. Everybody in Hell will suffer terrible burns, they will have worms, they will itch and can't scratch, they will suffer painful farts, and they will have to endure the hideous screams of each other, and this goes on forever.

Contact your local Baptist church for details. And the beauty of it is, you can still sin. As long as you're saved according to the Baptist agreement, you can still sin, but be discreet...above all you must believe in Jesus.

Believers in Jesus Christ, the Son of God who have passed away are in Heaven. I don't believe that relatives and Saints are looking down on us - mainly b/c Heaven is wonderful, and I think if our relatives looked down on this world they would be very sad. **For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16** **For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ Philip 3.20** **(Jesus prayed...) "Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world." John 17.24**
