I broke up with my boyfriend..even though i still love him but i had to for many reasons. We have been together for a few years and i havent been as close to my friends while dating him. Now i only have like 3 friends i can hang out with and talk to but i was wondering for people that broke up with there long time bf/gf if it took them a long time to get over them? Where you in a rut like you just stayed in a lot? Did you lose any of your 'friends'? etc thanks

I happened to not lose any of my friends to dating. For my ex...it took me 12 hours to get over him. Neither of us were sad, or mad, or anything. We had driven each other crazy, plain and simple. My advice for a rut is always the same: get a bowl of ice cream, a sappy movie, a box of tissues and a mound of blankets. Call those 3 friends over. Stay up all night talking and watching the movie. At the end, you'll probably be closer to your friends and over you ex. Make sure not to look like you're mad at him or anything. Still, try not to immediately act like everythings 'dandy' if it's not.

yeah it took me about 4 or 5 months to get over my boyfriend. I didn't stay in a rut I went and made some new guy friends and had a nice time talking to them. I didn't lose any of my friends they were right beside me the whole time.

Well your friends that you make right now will make you or break you so choose carefully. and yes you can expect to be in a little bit of a rut and just imagine what your ex is going through ( unless you broke up for him playing around) As far as loosing friends all you have to do is look them up and go visit them to get them back but question is do you really want to? All in all it is going to take time to heal and to get over the relationship

In any Dictionary. No where is the words, "Love' and Possession", included together. It's your own Life. Don't let others tie you down. You won't have this Clown around next year. But you should keep as many Friends as possible.

I have never had a boyfriend but i know these things. Yes it does take long to get over your boyfriend. But you do have to think was it his fault that you where not with your friends. If he's a person that listens tell him see if you could work it out. It all depends on you.

Well you shouldnt of lost in touch with your friends while your in a relationship. I think friends are kind of bitter of people like that. But it takes time to get over relationships... It helps when you find somone as a rebound.

first now you know who your really friends are.
regarding your bf,you will suffer for a while and feel miserable, but you must be postive and ask yourself what he did and if is bad, then say to you
"I DESERVE BETTER,I AM CUTE,SMART,NICE AND I HAVE a LIFE TO LIVE,I THANK GOD FOR THE GOOD AND BAD TIMES,BUT I AM CLOSING THIS BOOK TODAY"
