Literally, my scalp has been itching for 3 weeks straight. Because this often happens and goes, I blamed the itching on my severe dandruff, although no medication works, and thought nothing of it. My mom started brushing my hair and she picked out tons of small, ant-sized creatures. My hair is falling out continuosly, whilst my scalp is pink from the irritating bugs and itching. School is in two days. I'm dying of stress, I have 3 midterms coming up which I haven't even studied for and now these hideous zits are popping up, I don't know if it's the lice/bugs or stress. Or both. IS it lice? If so, in the crappy situation I'm in, what can I do?

Get full fat mayo. You can use the cheapest brand. Slather and saturate your entire head. Cover with a plastic bag and let sit for at least 3 hours. Wash your hair thoroughly using plenty of shampoo before wetting hair to cut mayo. Then take a thick moisturizing conditioner, the kind that comes in a tub. I use Pantene. Condition and rinse and comb out tangles. Then take a metal lice comb, section the hair, and comb, comb, comb. Rinse the comb in a cup of water with Dawn dish detergent after each comb through. Have someone go through your hair in tiny sections and pull each nit off each strand. It is going to be a long hard process but since you didn't realize you had them for a while, you are infested. Clean your house, wash bedding and stuffed animals, vacuum carpet, sofa. Boil all comb and brushes. Clean coats and hats. Dry clean what can't be washed or put it away for a month. Don't forget your car. Repeat the conditioning and combing every morning and night for 10 days to be sure you get any lice that hatch from eggs you might have missed.
It is a lot of work and very traumatic but you have to break the life cycle. I hated the chemicals and they really didn't seem to work for us.
Lice love clean hair so don't feel like you are dirty. My motto is comb, comb, comb.

sounds like you do have lice. Depending on your hair length you will need to get some lice remover and start combing like crazy. The combs they provide in the package don't work too well so invest in a sturdy lice remover comb. If you don't have alot of money you can try some home remedies like blow drying your hair every day or leaving conditioner in your hair for a few hours to get the nits loose. Wash everything!! in hot water if possible and do this again in a week. I have two girls with waist long hair so I have been there..i know your pain. Good luck.

Buy the lice shampoo at the drug store. Also buy their best lice comb.Follow directions on the shampoo . Use a bunch of conditioner. Have mom comb through every single strand of hair. She needs to scrape the eggs of each hair as well as pick off the live bugs.
Soak your comb, brush etc in lice shampoo with water.
Also buy the propler fabric spray for your sofa etc.
Strip your bed, Wash everything in hot, hot water. All hats either burn them or hot water wash.

Ah Yes You have lice. I would suggest buying some lice shampoo and follow the instuctions. You can also go to lice.org to find out alot of helpful info. The tea tree oil will NOT get rid of lice you already have BUT will help to prevent you get them again. You can buy tea tree oil and pour some into your shampoo or buy tea tree oil shampoo from a beauty supply store and this will help to prevent getting them again. Far as the hair falling out from experiance i will tell from an extreme amount if stress your hair will fall out. I hope some of this helps. (Ps if you do not get all lice and eggs from hair, clothes, furniture and all surrounds you will have them again. You have a Huge job ahead of you)

well you probably have lice but dont worry... i had it to about a year and a half ago. first use a lice remover from wal-mart 3 or 4 times and get the kind that comes with a conditioner! (otherwise you will dry your hair out majorly!) then blow dry your hair every single day before you go to bed and when you get up. and if you still have lice than use a different brand. and be sure to nourish your hair very well after you get rid of it!!!
