i need to choose a topic for an english research paper.. & it needs to be a question for example: what does the effect of tanning to to your body? but i would like to research cancer

That's interesting because I have been wondering about the effects of tanning beds on skin cancer- they say skin cancer rates have risen in the past 25 years- which is about the same time tanning beds became popular...

What about "What are some environmental contributors to cancer?". You might have to pick a specific cancer on this one (like skin cancer or lung cancer) because there is so much information. Or maybe do something on what physiologically happens when someone has cancer, like with the proliferation of cells and whatnot. People don't usually really know what cancer actually is, so this might be interesting.

Well you could choose the topic of smoking and lung cancer.
As in why do people keep smoking even though they know it increases the risk of cancer.
