fortunately, this coworker is only in my classroom at lunchtime, but as soon as I know that I can stay at the job, I´ll try and start giving my opinion on things, but slowly and in a non-confrontial way, this daycare has been there for a long time and their way of working is the only way they know...

I understood your question. It was clear that the child was not being punished for wetting herself. I agree some ppl didn't understand that.

Okay. I went back and read the original question.

Have you spoken to her parents? Does she exhibit this behavior at home? What do the parents do to trigger it or avoid it?

Is there any way that you can get this other teacher to back off a little bit? What she's doing actually sounds like abuse to me.

Try to be as supportive to this little one as possible, though I realize that you must have many children to deal with at the same time. It sounds like you have a knack for establishing self confidence in children, and maybe that's all this little girl needs. Or maybe she's just too preoccupied to go to the toilet, that happens a lot in kids that age. And you're right, at two she couldn't have been potty trained for too long, so maybe she just needs some more time to really get into the habit of it. Good luck.

Your English looks fine to me. You seem to write very well and use appropriate phrases except for the telling her off part. That does not look like a mistake in wording to me and I do not have a hard time reading. People read what you wrote and did not jump to conclusions. You are the one that said telling her off then use some lame excuse of not being in your native language, which I would have believed if the rest of your writing and phrases were not written in proper English. At any rate, it is very normal for a 2-3 year old to wet their pants. That poor child is not being malicious or strategizing. From the sounds of it she is probably scared to death.

I'm sorry I missed your first question but my daughter wet herself quite often when she was 2. At first I just thought she was lazy LOL she knew when to go but just wouldn't.. Eventually I noticed that the only time she wet herself was when she was playing, busy, or distracted and didn't want to pull away long enough to go.. So we started taking "potty breaks" after she started playing.. After about a week she stopped wetting herself and now, she just turned 3, she goes on her own..

I missed the origional question but went back and read it. You are doing nothing wrong, it's your co-worker I'm concerned about. Force feeding her and yelling at her when she wets herself??? What sort of caring, nurtering behaviour is that??? No wonder the poor little girl keeps weeing herself, through sheer terror!!! Please stand up for the little girl and all other kids under her care and report this co-worker to the appropriate authorities. She needs to be dismissed never to work with kids again.

I went back and read your other question. I sounds to me like this little girl is scared by your co-worker. I know you don't want to lose your job, but you need to protect those poor children from that woman. The parents need to know how their daughter is being treated. Good luck.

even if she is potty trained doesn't really mean much she still is only 2 years old you can't exspect her to be perfect. she still will have her mistakes. now if she was about 4 or 5 than that would be different.

I didnt get the first question......sorry, if they are already potty trained and are wetting on themselves. that is mainly to get attention, sometimes, something is upsetting them to wet themselves. If they havent been fully potty trained. It sometimes takes awhile for children to "catch" on.
