No...just a dead murderer who unfortunately sent himself to hell.
May God have mercy on his soul.

Many feared that he is for one reason, because he was put to death on the holy day of Eid. Many protested this day requesting that he be punished on another day, but the courts had made their minds.
And in all honesty, not a single person on earth could say whether Saddam Hussein is or is not a martyr. This is because this type of judgement is given by God alone, and none have the knowledge of a person that He has in order to give that judgement. Speculation or hopes are one thing, and I personally do not believe that such a disgusting person could ever be given the same treatment as a woman who died in childbirth, a person defending his/her home and family, a person who drowned/suffocated/burned to death (all martyrs in Islam). But God knows best.

Lol, gwhiz said it right.

No he is not a Martyr,But he has a better oppertunity now than he had when he was alive? He has a promisse from The one who can change things.
(John 5:28-29) 28 Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment. . .

A martyr is defined as someone who dies for his or her beliefs, so technically convinced, Sadam grow to be a martyr. His beliefs were ill, twisted and disgusting yet he died for them. it truly is not any longer a case of believing it or no longer, it truly is truth. Like 2+2=4. you are able to hate it, yet technically Sadam is interior of an same catagory as Joan of Arc, Martin Luther King or maybe Jesus.

Yes, for the Jihad he is, and for many Muslims, but not all Muslims.

The goal of Jihad is to become a Martyr for allah, and so his death created a HUGE martyrdom for the Jihad to use to promote their agenda/goals to overthrow the world for allah. The goal of Jihad is to bring low every other belief that opposed the faith of Islam, no matter where they are on earth. The terrorism of 9/11 was only a frop in the bucket for them, a small item in their grander plan.

I practice Sunni Islam and I don't think so. He's no more a maryr than Satan himself. He killed people, he planned to kill them, the reasons behind it do not matter, he made his decisions all on his own.

No one can take that away from someone who believes he is. I won't be surprise if he will be declared the last of the last prophet. I mean that's possible isn't it?
