Since your question is listed under "Religion and Spirituality," I'm going to assume you are perhaps referring to acquiring information as to the condition of dead persons or finding out the status of a dead person in the "afterlife." If that is the case, you can obtain free information as to comments the Holy Scriptures make on the subject by going to http://www.watchtower.org/library/w/2005/5/1/article_01.htm for an informative article on the subject.
I hope this helps!

The death certificate is a public document, usually kept at the court house or the county clerk's office. These are free. Otherwise, you'll have to say what you are specifically looking for.

Errrr.... Get a shovel?
Seriously, it depends what you mean. If it's a famous person, internet search and books. If not, public records archives.

death certificates are available at the place or county of the deceased person.....i would ask the county clerks office personnel for a copy of the certificate.....they most likely will charge you a buck...but at least you can take it w/ you.....
