Maybe you have just become mature enough to know what you really want to do. The superficiality of bars becomes tiresome and giving yourself the gift of some, "me", shows that you are more interested in looking after you well being then being hit on by some loser, lager louts. I think that shows a great deal of integrity and good self esteem to be able to live happily. To think self be true. Have a great evening.

Honey please, I am 18 and feel the same way. So that would be an insult to me haha. I never feel like doing anything. From working two jobs and trying to find a third to replace the second... it can be extremely exhausting. Tonight I got a shower and got all ready like I was going somewhere special and to be honest I would rather just lay around in some comfy pj's with blankets wrapped around me watching comedy and eating, then being out drinking too much and waking up to a hangover! Don't dare feel guilty for wanting some "you" time to relax, plus you will see your friends for coffee next week so they shouldn't mind. Good luck with whatever you do.

Do not feel guilty.........You are doing the norm.. taking care of yourself.. loving yourself and you probably should do it more often but without the guilt....
About the bars.. you are not old. it may be that the excitment of the bars has just escaped you..You probably have just outgrown them and that is a good thing. Bars are great sometimes but not where you want to be seen a lot!
Finding yourself after a sorta-kinda -ex can be a fulfilling and life changing, growing up experience.
Good Luck and continue to trust your instincts.

Do what YOU want to do...just because you don't feel like going out this weekend, doesn't mean you'll never feel like going out again. And no, not going to a bar doesn't make you a lser or "old" person...some would say those that go to bars are losers, but we know that isn't true either...
Bottom line, it's your life, live it as you see fit...when you start doing what you think other people believe you should do, is when you'll find it very difficult to be happy.

Not wanting to go out to a bar doesn't make you old. Sometimes a person just wants to relax and home and that is ok. You may just be a little burnt out of the bars right now. I am sure you will feel like going out again sometime.

If I were you, I'd just kick back in a cozy chair with a favorite blankie and a nice hot cup of tea, call a friend who you haven't talked to in a long time and surprise her with a pleasant chat, and read a book; knowing me that would probably be the Bible. You have the right to do whatever you want to to make yourself happy; you don't have to live up to what anybody else's standards are, or what you perceive others' standards to be. They all probably wish they could do their own thing and relax too but they're trapped in the image consciousness of society and probably aren't bold enough to free themselves of it yet. (BTW, I'm 28, but have felt this way for several years. ;)) P.S. - Just another idea: If you really want to see your friends, you don't necessarily have to go to a bar; just invite one or a few of them to hang with you at your place and talk and just enjoy each other's company. :)

No! Don't feel guilty at all for wanting to stay in! I am in a situation similar to yours (with a long distance relationship) and CAN go out every weekend if I want. Sometimes I just want to stay at home, curl up with a movie and a bottle of wine and have some 'me' time! Nothing wrong with that at all! :)

I hear ya sister, I'm 27, I quit drinking a year and a half ago, so that means I don't go out to the bars anymore, and if I want to do something I usually just hang out with my boyfriend.

No your not an old person. You are just maturing. I left the bar crap behind many years ago and dont miss it a bit. Insted of bars, there are group dinners and outings. Bars suck. Enjoy being at home and dont feel guilty.

You are not an old person or a loser. You are someone who has a lot on your mind & you need some quality time to yourself. You've made some plans with your friends for next so you haven't blown them off. Enjoy some time to yourself, pamper yourself, give yourself some time to "regroup".
