Well, 'te amo' means I love you, and in spanish, you don't use amar unless your realy seriouse about loving them. Other love would be expressed 'te quiero' or I want you, directly.

'Te amo con todo mi corazón' is the direct translation of 'I love you with all my heart'.

"te amo" is usually used for a person you are in love with

"te quiero" is used for a person you love...could be used for your mom, dad, friend, dog, etc...
