some people have hair that just doesn't hold a curl. The best thing to do is invest in a really good spruch spray. Spray your hair with it when its wet and continually scrunch it up to make it a little wavy. Let it air dry if possible and then spray it again before curling. Use a small curling iron and start curl the hair and then spray it with any kind of freeze spray (don't know if i can name product names on here) this should hold the curl..good luck.

Sometimes curling irons don't work because there isn't enough texture in the hair to help hold it. A perm would probably be the best way to keep the curls tight for longer, they have "1-week perms" out there too if you just want a test run or to only have that look some of the time. You can also go to the salon and ask to have your hair texturized. I'm not sure now they do it but it really helps with that sort of thing. You could try rollers too, you look weird with them in but it looks cool in the end.

if u will get a perm even if its on big rods or either get a glaze put on your hair and that will prevent it from being without body cause thats what u need is some body to help hold it and Vavoom Freezing Spray by Matrix is a good spray to use when u r using your small curling iron to curl it with. OK by the way you can get a clear glaze y don't have to have a color glaze

Your hair is either naturally stubborn, very thick or very heavy.

Try curling it after you wash and blowdry it.
