It seems to me that some believers of the christian faih feel it is necessary to tell others of other faiths (non christian based) that they are wrong and are going to hell. One writer likened it to see a bus hurtling in the direction of a pedistian and the need to save that person.
it seems to me a great test of faith is to leave the non believers and alternative folk to God who in his grace will deal with them through "Christ our Lord".
I like the view that " I am I and you are you". I also like the view that only God can judge, God works his magic in strange ways and all things have a purpose in Gods eyes, so why dont all the christians just let people be who they want to be and let God deal with them.
Live and let live and dont try to convert people unless they ask for religious guidance and let God in his wisdom and Glory deal with them. Does that sound reasonable to you??

I am not being critical and I mean no disrespect - however wouldn't the world be a better place if everybody regardless of their denomination just left it up to God to deal with the non believers. Imagine no religious wars, no crusades, no rivers running red with blood, no wars over whose religion is better. Just leaving to God to judge like the bible says.
Also preaching the gospel is great but when some people start getting down right derogitory and nasty to other individuals then the point of preaching the gospel is lost.
Some people have aswered tit for tat meaning you none believers critisize us so we will do it to you. thats a bit childish. For peace and a peaceful world why not leave the judging to God??

How about this - you meet a non believer who happens to be a Pagan. You are a christian. You tell them about God and they say
" Thanks but I am happy with my belief thankyou". You say ok I just thought I would spread the word and help you but I respect your right to self determination have a good life". You go on your way preaching gospel. Now that sounds fair. However an alternative reaction is to tell the Pagan who is happy that
" They are going to burn in hell, attempt to rip their belief system to shreds, tell them they wil be plagued by a 1000 demons, give them literature, put a bible in their mail box and spread rumours about them that they are devil worshippers and get their children osterised at school. I have seen this happen. Not only with Pagans but muslims and any other belief. This type of pejudice behaviour is rife in all religions, its not peaceful is it???

The Christians on here are answering you by saying that the Bible tells them to spread the word ,OK maybe it does ,but it was written a long time ago, when people were isolated within their own community and the only way others could even have a chance to hear about it would be by word of mouth
today ,its the opposite do Christians think that all non Christians have never seen a Bible ,never heard the Bible stories or don`t understand Christian beliefs .Isn`t it a lot more likely that non Christians have long since decided for what ever reason they don`t want to be a part of the Christian Church
i believe in god but i`m not a Christian and i don`t want to be one because of the hypocrisy and double standards
The Bible gives a lot of messages so why is it that Christians think they have the right to decide which one to disregard and what they see fit to shove down peoples throat
and what gives them the right to get any harmless question deleted for no other reason but it doesn`t echo their narrow blinkered view of life

God is not something that you take out or leave at home... Do you think god is an statue(that cannot defend it self??), or is it a chain(which can be stolen?),or is it a book(that can fall down??) Its the belief in god that you must have that matters.... Let me ask you this"Do you pray to god only when you want to??who is the boss you or God??who decides how many times a day you have to pray??YOU or GOD??who decides how to pray and when to pray??YOu or GOD??" so if its you who makes the decision then i am sorry you have taken the wrong way.... Its god who takes these decision..So follow that religion that gives the number of time you should pray, the way you should pray, the way you must get cleaned before you go to pray and with a clear message of truth..

Yes, that sounds quite reasonable to ME.
But as people have pointed out above, there are parts of the bible where believers are encouraged to go out and 'spread the word'.
In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (also known as Mormons) are known to take this 'obligation' very seriously. I guess they feel they have to, even though it may not always be welcome. I think they genuinely believe they are doing a good thing.
I just debate back my beliefs. But that's because I enjoy doing so (and continue to do here on Y!A!) I'm afraid that's part of Y!A. By coming here you risk being exposed to other people's views, welcome or not!

The best way is to show example of how to live as a christian. Many non-christians live a good life also, but do not believe, The only 'christians' I cannot stand are those who say that if you are not 'born again' then your faith is wrong. That is a fundamental american christian idea. As you said God will deal with us all (that is if one believes in him in the first place).

You are talking about legalism and that's not good at God eyes. And Christ told the Christians to go out and spread the message, and that's why the Christians (including myself) talk about God but i don't say that I'm right and everybodys wrong I only want to spread the word and show how great is Christ.

God tells us to spread his word, its easy for u now to tell Christians to leave non believers alone, but the day will come when u do believe and then YOU your self will be doing the same thing that those BELIEVERS are doing out of u , I understand that u don't believe and u don't wanna hear it but don't mess it up for the ones that WANT to believe...don't be so selfish u really shudnt TRY to discourage Christians to spread the word of Jesus Christ....I'm not saying that all Christian are rite there are sum i get really upset with and walk away bcuz they twist the words of the bible around that's why i only believe wut the bible saz and I only talk about scripturs i no. I not going to preach to u but...."God will open your eyes one day"

When we share our faith with others the way that God tells us too, some will consider it abuse and some will come to know Jesus. The Christians that are honoring God will speak the truth in love - yes you are right God will deal with them. We cannot save anyone- only Jesus can. His grace is for the undeserving however. Grace is a gift given to people who do not deserve it, but who accept Christ as their Savior. If you were a believer in Christ, you would want everyone to know the Jesus that we know. Only God can judge- that is absolutely right- but He told us to make disciples of men. We are to share our faith, God alone saves.

Some responses were angry and full of hate. I know what ya mean with this. And religion is not just Christianity to use in this section as I noticed someone posted here. People sometimes choke what they believe is correct and not respecting the "freedom" that we all have to chose. There is a difference on choking and successfully eating one's belief it chases some away.

It is part of our faith to be a light onto the world. I have not tried to force my belief on anyone. I have shared the Gospel with others and it is ultimately up to them weather they choose to believe or not, however when judgment day comes and my Father asks were you busy about the fathers business I will be able to say yes, I'm proud of that not ashamed.

What you say makes sense. However, the Bible commands Christians, "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." It also says, "He that believeth not shall be damned." If you are a Christian and you believe the Bible is the Word of God, it is natural to want to spread the gospel.
