No it works off of a key fob that you have to have on you in order to make the car start. As long as you have that, you push the button to start and turn off the car. It's better than having a key.

Intelligent key fob just has to be in your pocket, purse and the car recognizes you and just push the button on door handle and start button on dash to fire up the motor. if the key battery fails place the transmitter into the socket left of the steering wheel and it will be recognized. The emergency key on the fob is used mostly for re programing extra remotes or opening a car with a dead battery. This new car is packed full of features you should read cover to cover the owners manuals.

No it is a sensor in the car all you have to do is have the key inside the vehicle which is a key hidden in a keyfob. The sensor reads if the key is in the vehicle and you push the brake in fully and hit the button and bam it starts. If you put the keyfob right outside your window it will not start but once the key is inside it will.

Although you do have a mechanical key, (in case the battery of the electronic key dies) you just need to have the electronic key (keyless remote (key-fob)) inside the car and push the button.

I'm not sure, but I think you only put the key in the ignition. You don't have to turn it.
