A c4 will fit 170c.i. straight six, as long as it came off a 144,170,or 200c.i. v8s are different. The tranny identification tag will have the engine displacement on it, most of the time. If it is a v8 tranny then you should beable to chang the housing.

The 144,170,200,and 250 cid six cylinder motors used the same tranny's.
They are not the same bolt pattern as the small blocks.
Ford had 5 bolt small blocks in 62 , the 6 bolt bellhousings didnt start till mid 65.

a 1962 might have a 5 bolt pattern.

yes the six has the same bell housing as the small block... 6 holes

should fit, just make sure you have the six bolt small pattern bell housing
