Most of the time it turns out after the huge scare that they are okay, but yes dropping a baby can injure it. If you drop your child, you need to call the child's doctor immediately. There is a range of possibilities that could happen to a dropped child.

of course. I'll tell you a story. It's sad. i have a sister in law that left her baby with a baby sitter. The lady was getting something out of the fridge and she dropped the baby. The baby hit it's head and had to be rushed to the hospital because she couldn't wake him up. After a week of the baby being on life support and having so much damage to the brain due to a bleed they took him off the machines and he died 2 min later. If you have dropped a bany it is crucial that you take it to the hospital ecspecially if it knocked the baby out. there could be internal damage that you can't see.
Call the local ER and they might be able to tell you if you should bring the baby in. Never play with some ones life.

Most likely, yes. I would definitly take the baby to the ER. Keep in mind, many people have had a baby roll off the bed and the baby was fine. Take precautionary measures and have the baby checked out anyways. If you can't afford it, state medicaid for babys is retroactive and you can apply on Tuesday and they will cover the hospital visit.

People leave stupid answers on this thing....they should have experience as a parent, and medical personnel.
I am a mother of 2 girls. When my oldest was a few months she slipped out of her car seat and cried hysterically for about 2 minutes. I was so scared and rushed her to the hospital where I had to wait for about 2 hours. The doctor look at her and said she was fine. Parents do a lot of things to children accidentally....babies are not as fragile as a lot of people may think. They fall out of cribs, slide out of high chairs, slip when you're giving them baths and aside from the painful cries, most of the time they will be fine. After the crying dies down, see if they are different, see if they are out of it or acting odd. that's when you need to seek medical attention. But to answer your question, yes they CAN get hurt, most of the time they won't but if you drop them from high up or on there head then yes, they can and will get hurt. But it most cases, when a baby falls or is dropped the only thing that gets hurt is there feelings, and your ears.

It depends on how far and how hard they fell. I remember dropping my baby when she was a month or so. It was the middle of the night and I was feeding her and fell asleep and she fell on the floor, no carpeted. She was fine. She also fell out of the bed (she was older) and had a nose bleed. I took her to the hospital and she was fine. I felt horrible, of course. The doctor said it happened all the time and it would probably happen again. Weird, but that's what he said. If they don't cry that much, then they're probably not hurt that bad. If it was a hard fall I would go to the emergency room. It's better to be safe than sorry.

What is wrong with you people? It will be fine? I dropped all three of mine when they were tiny? Have you all lost your ever-loving minds? OF COURSE it can hurt the baby!!!! Why did you drop it? What the HELL was more important at the time than to pay attention to how you were holding your child?

Dropping a baby will definitely hurt him/her because they are so fragile dropping him/her on the head could give him/her head injuries dropping him/her on his/her back could give him/her back injuries so if you dropped your baby take him/her to the doctor to get him/her checked out just in case he/she is hurt.

YES. If you drop your baby, go to the hospital. Even if nothing is wrong, they will not make fun of you. It is important to get them checked out QUICKLY.
