The credit card number is imprinted on the front and appears as raised numbers in the plastic. It is generally 16 digits - four groups of four. The card identification number is usually printed in ink, is 3 or 4 digits, and is on the back on or near the signature strip. In some cases, the last 3 or 4 digits of the card number are printed on the back next to the ID number, but they are not actually part of the ID number.

If you have the card in hand it should be pretty simple to figure out. Sounds like a stolen statement to me.
