yes, it is non existent.

you would need to some how eliminate all differences, physical, psychological, genetic and social.

you would need to have people think talk and act alike

you would need to eliminate anything that could cause dispute, land rights, religion, economics and rights to resources.

then you would need to eliminate the human element all together.

Man in not capable of wide spread peace because we are too different and are too afraid of other people's differences.

World peace will only come when all humans, animals and plants are wipe clean from the planet, till then there will always be conflict.

The downside is that billions of dollars and all the lost human labour and lives in war would have to be used for something else. Maybe it would be spent building poor areasor spent on health care, education, and new business development instead. Hey wait... that's not much of a downside. I guess there isn't a downside of world peace.

Downside???More people would be alive and the weapons industry would be bankrupt but for me those aren't a downside...
However war has always been one of the major occupations of human beings, just after eating and having sex, so I think world peace will not be a "problem" ever...

That reminds me of a question about the Tsunami that hit two years ago, where someone said "well, it will help reduce the population". I guess a downside could be that with world peace, fewer people die before having kids, and the world population will hit "critical" that much sooner. I don't like this "downside" though. I'd love to see world peace!

The downside is that when it comes for about 6 months it will be a false peace by the beast of revelation, then the tribulation hits, much bloodshed, disease and death happens, the Mark of the beast and allegiance to this person claiming himself to be GOD and many will believe him, but, eventually Jesus returns to conquer evil in the physical realm and to be king of all the earth !!
Thats the UPSIDE, no more crooked big money governments !!! the lion will lay down with the lamb, and there will be no violence in all his Holy Mountain.

World peace would bring a total economic desaster to USA, UK, France and The Netherlands, as these are the main arms producing / trading nations. In fact, industry of war logistics is a huge pillar of western economy.

But hey, I wouldn't mind. I guess world peace will be worth it.

The downside is for the ultra-rich.
All those natural resources and taxdollars being used to make the general public better educated and more comfortable.
Increasing our surplus of reserve goods in this country.

Without that scarcity of goods prices on items such as energy, textiles, and minerals would plummet. Good for the general public but bad for the ultra-rich who use that scarcity for price control - fear tactics - and to control the hearts and minds of the nation.

No any surplus in resources, goods, and tax dollars should be shoveled into a the blazing fire which is war.

Certain individuals may not beable to make large profits from the exploitation of certain powerless groups. I'm sure, to them at least, that would be quite a downside.

Of course there is.. just think of all the companies & people that would be out of a job if there was world peace (arms contractors, subcomponent builders, military personell etc?)

But not to worry.. world peace has never happend in human history, and likely never will
