I have an American Bulldog pup who just turned 6 months old. At about 3 months one of her ears flopped out and the other flopped in...so it looked like she had two right ears on her head...my boyfriend worried about it, but I thought it looked cute and was a little disappointed when it started to correct itself.

Occassionally the ear will flop back in, but for the most part, she's outgrown it. It's just a personality trait of your puppy that makes your pup unique, but that it will probably outgrow.

Your vet should know, and if she doesn't, she is not a very good one. Every dog is different, like all people are different. Your puppy's ears are just the way they were meant to be. Unless your dog's ears cause it pain, there shouldn't be anything wrong.

probably not a purebred I would imagine, cross breeding can make some wonderful pets. Little things like the ear droop are some of the "downside" to cross breeding. Not that I concider any cross a downfall. Look at it this way, the ears gives your dog something others have to search for-----character

the pup is growing into it's ears. my min pin dauschund mix has one straight ear, and one floppy one. she's 2 now. its just the dog. kinda like how some human's ears are slightly pointed, and some people don't have ear lobes. I wouldn't worry about it.

good luck!!

How old is pup and what breed?
In some breeds the ears start flopped and then slowly go straight eg german shephards
Don't be alarmed unless your dog is in pain

If the vet isn't worried, then I wouldn't be.

Take the puppy to a different vet for a second opinion if you are still worried.

It's not broken just the way he was born. Just like your ears are just the way that they are and nothing is wrong with them.

Sometimes dog ears do that. If your vet didn't know and they examined your dog, get a new vet.
