Hard to tell without pictures, but, it could be a ringworm or some other type of fungus, could be eczema, or even an allergy of some sort. Get him to a doctor ASAP, because he could be contagious

I have a problem like this on my right hand, and it is extrememly embarassing for me. About a month ago I discovered Emu Oil (as in the bird) and I began applying it to my hand with Tea Tree Oil as well. The emu oil (make sure that it is pure and refined) contains many fatty acids that your skin is lacking. It is odor-free and a little goes a long way. I apply the tea tree oil first because it has the ability to penetrate skin deeper than any lotion, so if you use it with a lotion, it acts almost as a transporter for it (in addition to being very soothing).
I cannot express what a relief it is to finally find something that works. I was using topical medications for a long time that were destroying my skin, it became thin and cracked. I never thought I my hand would look normal again, and now, it looks almost as healthy as my other hand. I highly, HIGHLY reccommend this combination, it's best to apply it after every shower, and before sleep. Both the emu oil and the tea tree oil can be found at www.vitaminshoppe.com and won't break your budget. A 4oz bottle of emu oil will run you about $20 and will last you a long time, and don't expect to pay more than $10 for the tea tree oil. I'm happy to offer this advice because I'm so pleased with my results. Good luck!!!

Hi I would go to a skin doctor, but does anyone in your family have a history of eczema or psoriasis. I have psoriasis so I get red little dots and scabby , there is about five different types of psoriasis out there I have the type it looks like someone finger painted little red dots just about everywhere especially in hot spaces. I now it sounds weird but I was told just to use Vaseline he would have to put shorts on not good clothes and rub it on the spots because you don't now exactly what it is you don.t want anything with perfumes in it .

Do you have an accompanying fever? If so, check with your doctor about scarlet fever. If not, more than likely it's something you've come into contact with. Have you begun using a new detergent? My husband is allergic to Tide detergent (not the liquid, only the powdered form) Go figure! Any irritation to your body will bleed if aggravated. My mosquito bites bleed if I scratch too long. Also check the fruits you've been eating. I really believe the more things are being done to crops are causing major side effects. I'm an island girl and have eaten bananas all my life. I just recently discovered that I now have a banana allergy. Because I ingested it, I had trouble breathing and an intense itching spread all over my body. I scratched so much the welts on my body started to connected into big lashes and bleed.

He needs to go to the doctor. It could be scarlet fever which has to be treated with antibiotics. That is caused by the strep virus. Don't put calamine lotion on it until you find out what it is.
