I am having customers fill out a form. The form asks for Year, Make and Model. People are putting Nissan Sentra or Mitsubishi Gallant for example. I need to know if it is a Sentra, Sentra S, Sentra SE-R or a Sentra SE-R Spec V. What could I put with Model to get the customer to put the additional information I need?

The more letters = the faster the car.

Those letters are just the package options that the vehicle has. The Sentra is pretty well stripped down, while the Sentra SE-R Spec V is loaded with everything.

I would think if you put engine size transmission type. That would help insurance company to tell what this sentra is. 2000 to 2006 sentra has 1.8 liter 4 cyl engine. some 2000/1 year sentras had the 2.0 liter motor. SER and SER spec V has 2.5 liter engine and optional 6 speed gear box confusing isn't it? other wise most of the letters mean trim upgrades.

The SE stand for special edition and stands for the trim package. The Spec V stands for the engine that is in the car. The S is the base package. If you have anymore questions about models then just go to a vehilcles website and look up that model and it will probably tell you what that acronym stands for.

Sentra 1.8S: 1.8 liter
Sentra 2.0SE: 2.0 L
Sentra SE-R: 2.5 L (160HP)
Sentra SE-R Spec V: 2.5L (175HP)

In some cases, extra letters mean nothing, but do some research.

it is the trim level of the vehicle, and usually says a little about the spec level too.

some have it just for show and make it sound better
