very good question...

Why are there fresh water fish and salt water fish today if there was a world wide flood (which i do not believe there was) the fresh water fish would have been killed by the immense salt content of the flooded oceans.

2 points to you for that question.

p.s. if they weren't fresh water and salt water fish back then what happened? did they evolve?

there are a lot of species of animals. sea animals still live today in sea. they did not need to go on the arc. now for the rest of the animals. incuding dinos. were they able to fit? well noah took 2 of every animal that was unclean and seven that were clean. every animal. they have proven that the ark was big enough to hold every animal. and float. infact commanders in the navy and those who create boats admitted that the ark was a perfect sized vessel to not flip over. it was not a boat but more of a barge. the room was big enough to hold all animals in it. you forget that most animals or species are very small. i think the average size is like a mouse size. there are very few huge animals even including dinos. now on top of that they did not fight. for tell then God told us that all the fruits and plants were for food. not meat. after the flood then God said all the meat was for us to eat as well. tell then we were not to eat meat.

they have proven there was a world wide flood too. on top of that they have found fish fossils in mountains and all over were water does not go. if you know how to make a fossil then you would know why that is important. you cant just burry something and call it a fossil it wont make it. it will desinagrate. you have to burry it deep enough and fast to keep air and oxygen away from it and burry it deep enough so no oxygen can get to it. it is more complicated but that is the simple. back then we dont know how the water was. it could have been perfect with just enough salt for the salt water fish and at the same time not enough to harm fresh water fish. or the content all the salt water fish could have swam more at the bottom of the ocean if salt was heavier then water and so it might have sunk and still had fresher water at the top. i dont know i was not alive then. as far as evolve goes there is a difference between 2 dogs of different kind mixing to make another breed and 2 of the same breed having a different breed. some kind of fish are able to breed together that are not the same breed just like humans do. were you have a african american and a caucasion having a mixed baby.

evolution is more on the lines that humans would eventually grow a tail if we needed it we would eventually grow one.

there is nothing impossible for God. God was able to seperate the water from land. and i am sure he could have kept salt water and sea water seperated. if he needed as well.

According to Ernest Mayr, America's leading taxonomist, there are over 1 million species of animals in the world.

God only provided the Ark for the protection of humans and land-dwelling, air-breathing creatures. A huge number of animals would not need to be taken aboard the Ark because they are water dwellers. Representatives would be expected to survive the catastrophe. With God's protection against extinction during the Deluge, survival would have been assured. (Scene from The World that Perished, a Christian motion picture about the Flood)However, the vast majority of these are capable of surviving in water and would not need to be brought aboard the ark. Noah need make no provision for the 21,000 species of fish or the 1,700 tunicates (marine chordates like sea squirts) found throughout the seas of the world, or the 600 echinoderms including star fish and sea urchins, or the 107,000 mollusks such as mussels, clams and oysters, or the 10,000 coelenterates like corals and sea anemones, jelly fish and hydroids or the 5,000 species of sponges, or the 30,000 protozoans, the microscopic single-celled creatures.

In addition, some of the mammals are aquatic. For example, the whales, seals and porpoises. The amphibians need not all have been included, nor all the reptiles, such as sea turtles, and alligators. Moreover, a large number of the arthropods numbering 838,000 species, such as lobsters, shrimp, crabs and water fleas and barnacles are marine creatures. And the insect species among arthropoda are usually very small. Also, many of the 35,000 species of worms as well as many of the insects could have survived outside the Ark.

As is did not rain on the earth before the flood, there was little salt that found its way into the seas and oceans, so it was all fresh water.

At the rate that the oceans are getting saltier (even with the ice caps melting) the seas and oceans would have been fresh only a few thousand years ago (the time of the flood).

I have a feeling that the fish had enough water to survive outside. I am also thinking that yes we have salt water and fresh water now, but it might now have been that way back then.

Gen 7:15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life. KJV

Only breathing animals were on the ark.
