ok - I colored my hair (at home) about 2.5 months ago. It is a medium cinnamon brown color. My natural color is light brown with lots of red and blond in it. The two are actually very similar. I was just about to touch it up when my husband said that my roots are almost the same as the rest of my hair. Problem is when held up to the light, you can really see the red in the rest of hair as apposed to my roots. My question is, can I use a toner to tone down the red so I don't have to recolor? OR should I use a colored glaze (I do have a red john frieda glaze) to make my roots match the rest of my hair? I am trying to avoid coloring.

avioding coloring is a good idea. 2.5 months isnt long enough to recolor you colored hair. try the toner on the root. if you color you whole head again you will be severly damaging your hair, and trust me its not cheap to repair.

as a hair stylist i would prefer you see a talented colorist, however, if the frieda glaze has worked well before then stick with it since you're trying to avoid more color apps. WARNING do not put the glaze anywhere but the new growth! it will over time darken that hair and put more red in it. good luck

toner is definitely ur best bet.... Loreal has a real good one (unless they took it off market)... it's called toner/definer...I think they make one specifically for natural blondes, brunettes an redheads....

put streaks in thats very similar to your natural colour, this wil let the colour grow out but not be seen. then your hair can turn back to its natural colour evenly.
i did it and it was gr8!

You should probably take it to a salon and just ask there opinion.
