P(AA) = (4/52)(3/51) * (6 players) = 0.027 P(0-gap connector flopping a straight) = 0.013 P(turn and river are aces, if you don't know the other 4 players' cards) = (2/47)*(1/46) = 0.000925 P(all three things happening in one hand) = 0.027 * 0.013 * 0.000925 = 1 in 3,079,772 That's not the exact answer, but for your purposes, it's probably a good enough estimation. The exact answer would be tedious to calculate, because it would need to factor in: - all the ways someone can flop a straight with hands other than 0-gap connectors - preflop, the odds of them getting each type of connector (1-gap, 2-gap...), the odds of getting a non-connector, the odds of getting a pair other than aces -- the above must exclude the straights made using aces - the odds of a straight getting flopped if multiple people see the flop - the combinations of hands multiple people can have (more than one person can have connectors, etc.) Also, a less scientific but still important factor: - the odds of N number of players seeing the flop against someone who has AA, which is comprised of the following factors: - how often the person with AA raises to each possible amount (including just limping) - the average # players seeing flops for X amount at that table

I love 9-8 suited because it is a tricky hand if you hit the flop, no one is going to put you on 9 high. I love the guy with two aces in the hole and the flop comes out 9-8-2, i win big pots by playing theses kind of hands.

A,K suited is allways a nice starter. I once had A,K and then 3 other aces came out (Two on the flot and one on the turn card) giving me poker with aces (A lovely feeling).

Any hand that you think is better than your opponents, but I personally like the pocket pair starting hand. You gotta love that Texas Hold 'Em

I always like A 8 suited. It's not the best hand for me to start with, but the beginning of the dead man's hand is irresistible to me. And I can't help but play A 2 suited either.

5 6 suited.

You can catch a straight anywhere from A to 10, most players muck 6 high so it's easily concealed and suited makes it good for gut shot flushes.

You do have to realise it's limitations though and be prepared to chuck it if the flop isn't kind.

I've always had a personal fondness for KQ suited (esp. diamonds), because that hand made my first and only Royal Flush. More generally, I like to play most suited connectors if I can get in cheaply.
