There is a product out called "Wallies" that comes in all different themes that you could try in a few spots to accent your pillows, drapes, etc. They are a peel and stick wallpaper-like product. Check eBay for them. They also have a "regular~looking" wallpaper out now that you can just stick it up and remove it whenever you want to, that won't damage the walls, and is alot easier/less messy to hang than normal paper. I can't remember which company manufactures it right now, but if you do a search, it should be easy to find. Just putting it on one focal wall would make a big difference! Chose a pattern and color that coordinates with your furniture, accent pieces or artwork that will be on other walls in that room and it will all come together great! Also, hanging alot of shelves at different levels and displaying your "treasures" on them always makes for a rich, eclectic look! And don't forget plants, plants and more plants with colored uplighting in the pots of the big ones or wrap some tiny white Xmas lights thru a couple. Good Luck!!

does the brick have deep enough grouting that a screw head would fit between the bricks??
I have a 4 by 5 ft picture that I hang on a brick wall. On the back put a screw into each of the top corners, leaving about one inch out, just rest the screws on the top edge of a row of bricks. It works and stays up just fine.
If you find a fabric that you want to hang, just stretch it on an easy to make frame and hang it on your brick wall. It can be BIG and splashy, at least as big as your brick wall will allow.

You can attach fabric to the wall(not the brick one)kind of like wall paper with wall paper paste and pull it off when you move out. You can also take fabric and curtain rods and hang the fabric like drapes. It will look like you have a wall of windows.

Wow, tons of alternatives. You can just buy a big chunk of some colored material you really dig and hang it on the walls. You can also get different colored spotlights and shine them on the walls, etc. Hope that helps.

king size sheets. dye them. paint them. stencil them. hang them. drape them. stretch them on a large frame.
edit woops. gotta disagree with the above. if you use wall paper paste you will screw up the wall pullin it off (might lose damage deposit). subtle use of that jelly like adhesive would do alright on the brick and it will come off easily.

You could pin a king size light weight ethnic print cotton bedspread from India on a wall.

I once cut out some designs from wrapping paper & glued them to the wall with raspberry jelly. came off real easy when it was time to move out.

Use color accents with pillows or blankets on your furniture. Decorative lamps or hanging a shelf with colorful knicknacks.
