Funnily enough, yes. I got into YA after my mum and stepdad died within 2 months of each other.
I found it took my mind off things and was quite soothing.
I don't think I'll last much longer though......I'm getting a bit stale!

I understand that Roy but, I need to laugh too...
Maybe it is too soon for you, though...
Normally when I have answered a question of someone with hardship, I almost immediately answer a very silly one.
I hope no one look at that as it could be denying in a way the serious answers but I can not help it.
I tell you that because how you feel now, you can be shocked that an answer you gave from the bottom of your heart is discarded for something quite silly.
After a while, you will probably you too have people like- I would say- regulars and I wish you that.
Because, sometime you will feel better and you will be able to enjoy some very funny people...
Now, it is probably too soon...
Keep the good job.

Ever heard the saying, 'If I can help somebody as I pass along the way, then my living has not been in vain'?
Yahoo answers gives us the chance to do it every day. We may not even know if our answers have helped the questioner or not! I think that the majority of answers do. I feel that if just one answer I give helps in even the smallest way, I've achieved something.
Like you I find it helps me. I think its because when you read the answers you realise you are not alone! Others share your views, others have faced and defeated life's problems. I think sometimes just knowing that helps us face our own trials.
Definately a real tonic!!!!!

Yes they can be but you have to be careful there are some people who can be quite thoughtless when answering questions. However I'm really glad you've had a positive experience and I hope you continue to find support for your bereavement.

Sorry for your loss. I asked about a medical condition fom which I'm suffering at the moment and has left me pretty much disabled. Couldn't understand the consultant so I asked on here. Got several excellent answers which I understood. Hope you start to heal soon. Good luck for the future.

I like to help people that don't know who I am because if my answer is dumb or that person don't like it, it is just my opinion to them and maybe someone else's answer will help them
