If you have another way to pay, yes. If you find some hole-in-the wall place that doesn't submit the transaction electronically (or a store whose system is currently down) than it'll go through to pay them and put you over your limit.

Credit Card compaines will often let you go over your limit (usually up to 10% of your current limit). However, they also charge a hefty over-the-limit fee (sometimes $50 or more) for doing so. The best thing is to contact your credit card company directly.

Why do you want to pay the high fees anyway? I do it the old fashion way by saving my hard earned money. I rather wait then have commitment to my credit card.

Yes, but it will cost you: Over the limit fees, and higher interest rates. You are better off asking for an increase.

usually there's an overage limit, you have to find out whether your card has it.
