The point is that the points you make by answering questions deserves points. The points you make motivate you to make more points. Yahoo.com in turn gets points on its sponsors' point-chart by attracting more people who are motived by points.

So you can put it on your resume. I earned a gallion points on yahoo answers. Its like notches on the belt or on the bed. Or how many bubble gum wads you have stuck to the wall. It is a status... You are the queen or king of Yahoo answers ... as you can see by my collections of points I am not. :-)

I guess they use points as incentives. Most people wouldnt do anything unless they got something out of it. Also mabe so people who ask questions have to give something back to keep asking more questions.

so if you are looking for a job they will ask you how are you at solving problems and you can tell them very good because you help people every day and you can put it on your resume. so you can get a jod in the field and they ask you what are your hobbles so they can help get you a job soving other peoples problem like 911.

Would so many people answer them if we didn't get the points? (which have no actual tangible value, they just look cool...)
