One would need an understanding the Trinity and the incarnation of Jesus to answer this. In essence the Trinity is the doctrine that there is only one God in all existence. This one God exists as three persons: The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are not three gods, but one God. Each is a separate person, yet each of them is, in essence, divine in nature.

Jesus, who is the second person of the Trinity, added to himself human nature and became a man. As a man, Jesus needed to pray. When He was praying he was not praying to Himself, but to God the Father.

He didn't have all the power when He walked the earth. God emptied Himself to become a man just like us. He experienced being tired and hungry, just like us. When He returns, He is coming back with all the power though.

Jesus is God, but one part of the 3 part Godhead.
The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Yes, and why would he pray to his Father if he was God. Why would the Scriptures say that God was the head of Christ, just as Christ is the head of man, and why would Jesus say that the Father was greater than he was, and why would Jesus not know everything that God knew if he were God, and if he were God why does the Bible call him the firstborn of all creation...and on and on! Jesus is so very obviously God's Son and not God!

Matthew 3:16 & 17: "16 After being baptized Jesus immediately came up from the water; and, look! the heavens were opened up, and he saw descending like a dove God’s spirit coming upon him. 17 Look! Also, there was a voice from the heavens that said: “This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.”

Jesus is God's son, when he became a man on earth, God his Father is still in heaven.

1 Kings 8:27 “But will God truly dwell upon the earth? Look! The heavens, yes, the heaven of the heavens, themselves cannot contain you; how much less, then, this house that I have built!

God's power and magnitude is too great for a limited earth space to contain, that is why he miraculously sent the spirit life of his son, Jesus, to Mary's womb.

Jesus prays to God because they are two different persons...Even God testify to Jesus during his baptism. God spoke and said (referring to Jesus) "This is my son to whom I am pleased." (MAtthew 3:17)

Because even though they are all God, they are three separate beings. God was in heaven watching Jesus on earth at that point, and Jesus at this time was fully human. He prayed to God for help just like any of us should. he did not use his powers just for his benefit during his time on earth.

That is because Jesus is not the Almighty God, Jehovah. Jesus is God's Son. John 5:19 "Most truly I say to you, The Son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative, but only what he beholds the Father doing." Also, in Philippians 2:5-8, "Christ Jesus, who, although he was existing in God's form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God. No, but he emptied himself and took a slave's form and came to be in the likeness of men. More than that, when he found himself in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient as far as death, yes, death on a torture stake." Jehovah God does not share his headship with anyone. Deuteronomy 6:4 "Listen, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah." Isaiah 42:8 "I am Jehovah. That is my name; and to no one else shall I give my own glory." Jehovah God is the hearer of prayers. Philippians 4:6 "In everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let your petitions be made known to God." Prayers are to be offered in Jesus' name. 1 Timothy 2:5 "There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man Christ Jesus."

Remember (or notice) that 'God' is not just a person, but most often a title or position. He was praying(communicating) to God (i.e. the family or team) the Father.
The word translated God, in Hebrew comes from about 10 different terms; some singular, some plural.

He the man Jesus could not contain the whole God. He the flesh prayed to Him the Father, who is Omani present through Him the Holy Spirit.Like one rope intertwined with three ropes. The three make up one. They are integrated into a oneness, a union a holy union. Each one is personal, or individual yet are one. They are one in agreement lets just say.

It's because there are a number of contradictions in the bible. Jesus was not God, nor the Son of God. He was a Messenger, a Prophet of God, who worshipped none but God, and commanded his followers to do the same. He did not say I'm God so worship me. That's a lie.

God can not sit down at his very own marvelous ingredient. He does not pray to himself. He does not say he's doing the choose of the single that sent him. He might comprehend the day and hour that God exchange into going to start Armageddon. He does not say he has forsaken himself. He does not say "it is my son, the single I easily have authorized. whilst he died, who exchange into it that resurrected him. The Bible says that God exalted Jesus yet why might he exalt himself? Jesus mentioned God exchange into greater suitable than he. Jesus under no circumstances asked for all of us to worship him. If God prays how can he be God? If Jesus is God why did he could get baptized? If Jesus is God , in who's call exchange into he baptized in? How did Jesus acquire the Holy Spirit if he's likewise God & the Holy Spirit ? If Jesus is God who exchange into it that he prayed too to save him from loss of life? Himself? Hebrews 5:7 Did all of us that observed Jesus die? (Exodus 33:20) . . .“you at the instant are unable to work out my face, by way of fact no guy could even see me and yet stay.” And God isn't a God of bewilderment? by way of fact Jesus isn't God. isn't it outstanding how genuinely the Bible refutes some teachings whilst they have no Biblical foundation? Why did Jesus recieve a 'greater advantageous' posistion from the daddy if he exchange into God? (Phil. 2:9) If the Trinity capacity 'co-equivalent' and 'co-eternal' this might mean that God, Christ and the Holy Spirit have been ALL co-equivalent....up till this scripture. Now, in accordance to this scripture Jesus has a 'greater advantageous' place........greater greater advantageous to the single he had before it exchange into 'given' to him. So if the Bible AND the Trinity are the two authentic, this might advise that Jesus is now bigger in posistion in the Trinity than the daddy and Holy Spirit - on condition that before this scripture they have been ALL 'co-equivalent'. How could this be obtainable? curiously the two the Bible is faulty or the Trinity doctrine is faulty....i ask your self which one?
