Nations go to war for many reasons and all wars have different reasons they are waged. The most common is to take over another nation, but if I knew what war between who I could tell you more.

Nations go to war because we have disagreements with one another. One person has one belief, others have different ones. I personally think that since there is sin in the world, it is God's plan for this to happen. Eventually there will be 7 years of peace. But for now, we have to understand why wars happen.

Nations to go war because of several reasons: people have selfish agendas, leaders are greedy, countries have to go in self-defense, and sometimes, countries have to stop the spread of some forms of government or rule before their countries fall victim to it and the other country is too powerful to stop. As long as there is man, there will be war. It has existed since man formed groups or tribes.

For an ironic smart a** answer it is because without war - what would all the soldiers do with themselves?
When else would Lockheed Martin get to test their war machines in real life situations? It is a short term economic stimulus.

Check out the movie JFK, particularly the scene in which the character Jim Garrison (played by Kevin Costner) is talking to the mystery man "X" (played by Donald Sutherland) in Washington DC and you will have your answer! "The economy of any nation on earth is decided upon by the use of its war powers!"

The war begins when the nations are in conflict and they on some way want to destroy their enemies!

to resolve issues that have very little to do with common man. seriously, i have no problem with war, but besides a WW1 &WW2 the rest to seem to be based on a personal agenda. Side note: I do support the current effort to go after Al Queda, however I thin Iraq is a waste of lives.....
