It's a little annoying.....

Didn't people build churches so people could listen to preachers without having to choke on exhaust from buses?

Jesus and his apostles preached that we should love others, no matter who, but they did NOT make a nuisance of themselves...practically everyone was happy to hear them...even the Romans, before they started getting too much power.

Street preachers will occasionally follow you, preaching to you...isn't that harassment? that's not exact what Jesus preached, was it?

In Jesus' time, there were practically NO Christian churches...a problem that really doesn't exist today...

"As it was in the beginning, so shall it be in the end." My mind always goes to this verse. I think we need more of it! It would be so awesome to hear the Word in the streets. I think I would live there. I want all that I can get from our Heavenly Father. After all we are to preach the Kingdom of God is at hand. Have a blessed day!

Which kind are you referring to?

The door to door salesman variety tend to be an annoying interuption, nothing more.

The one's who quietly hand out the Chick tracts are basically saying "Here, could you throw this out for me?"

The one's who stand on the street corners are unintelligible, if for the only reason that they get so worked up, that they're screaming, and impossible to understand (and I've had the joy of dealing with this type in my hometown.)

The only type that I don't mind seem to be the most "Christ-like": they find a small place in a public area, and do their thing. They welcome those who wish to be involved, and leave those who don't in peace.

There is no knock down evidence that anyone fitting the biblical description of Jesus existed. However, if we are to believe that Jesus is the supernatural incarnate, nothing he did could be an example for us, being incapable of his level of perception and power.

I don't have a problem with street preachers as long as they don't impede where I'm going.

As a matter of fact I think they add "flavor" to the area.

I used to go door to door to preach. And the reason they do it is because they feel that it is a command in the bible to go forth and preach the good news. Now that I look at it from the other side I feel that it is pretty arrongant to go to someone and tell them you have the truth and if they don't accept what you tell them they are going to die because what they believe is all wrong.

I feel it is imposing upon others. Jesus may have done this-but, I would have felt it was imposing then, too. Look where it got him.

Besides, there is TV, and other media to use now.

I think it went out of fashion a long time ago.

Yea, probably that long ago.

And what is practiced today is more often than not an invasion of privacy and space.
