Breathe!!!

It get better once you relax. The chances of you crashing are slim if you know where the brake is...so give it time.

I took awhile to learn, and I am still a cautious driver. Make sure people are quiet in the car so you can concentrate, leave the radio off.

Just drive as much as you can. That is the only way to break thru your fear and get good at it. We all learned at some point and went thru the same fear. Good luck sweetie!

You'll be fine. I'm just learning how to drive too. My first time driving was last week, and I'm doing to drive again on Monday. I freaked out a little too, but now that I know I can control the car, I'm ok. It's not so hard. You just need practice. Just learn from your mistakes.

I have bad anxiety, too. Just breathe and relax; don't get so tense. You have someone in the car with you, right? Just do as they say.

Don't be so nervous. Start out somewhere that you are familiar with, keep going in circles if you have to until you get used to the car, turn on some of your favorite music (not to loud). You don't have to be scared. If it where scary no one would drive. Just take your time practice makes perfect.

I suggest that you spend the $ & effort to attend a professional driving school. Likely you will find it a lot easier and condusive to driving than getting a parent or friend to teach you.

I once started teaching My former wife how to drive her Harley I built for her (and i did teach her the basics) but after awhile it wasnt worth it to me to continue.. so I sent her to a professional course which she passed with flying colours. But by the same token I sent a former girlfriend to the same M/C course..(because i wasnt getting very far with her as i was too close to the situation and she felt she could yell & scream at me LOL) after 2 hours the instructor flunked her out and asked her to leave, she just wasnt cut out for 2 wheels.

There are times when the person teaching you are too close to the situation, and times when you are too resistant to what they are trying to teach you. Some people are naturals at driving.. others not so much. A professional driving teacher, is pretty much like anyother professional teacher, they are geared for it. (you wouldnt want Dad teach you to do heart surgery now would you LOL)

Keep in mind all the joys there are once you get good to motivate yourself to keep trying. Also, if one of your parents is more calm and patient than the other, make sure they are the one you ask to take you to practice! Stick to parking lots and empty streets until you feel comfortable with the car itself. Don't give up... you'll learn to love it!

You'll be fine...you just gotta practice (with someone who actually knows how to drive). I wasn't nervous when I started...but definitely made my parents nervous...and my driving instructer thought I'd be the first of her students to get a speeding ticket.

Well, I think that you should just calm down. There is really nothing to be afraid of, as long as you know that you know how to drive, or at least step on the gas pedal and on the brake pedal (unless of course if you drive a stick shift, but that's a different story). Just try to relax and calm down. Just believe in yourself, and concentrate.

Yea it’s pretty scary at first but remember how this feels and a year from now recall the memory and you’ll realize as you driving through downtown traffic you can do it as easily as breathing.

When you first start driving, start off small. Drive on roads that no one goes on and slowy build up your confidence. You'll get good in no time at all. Good luck!
