I love Broccoli.....and it's great with so many things...two of my favorites are "broccoli and salmon" or broccoli and chicken"
When I broil the Salmon with lemon and butter salt and pepper...I then steam the broccoli and when it's done I pour it into a saucepan that has garlic butter in it....and toss it around. It's simple and soo soo good...
for the Chicken and Broccoli
I take some chicken breast meat that has been stir fried or boiled whatever way you want to prepare it....
Make a white sauce with:
flour,4 tablespoons of butter
1 cup milk
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
dash of nutmeg
dash of pepper
1/2 cup or less chopped fresh parsley or
dried but less of it.
Cook the flour and butter together until it's a paste then add the milk and broth, salt and nutmeg black pepper or white pepper...chopped parsley and parmesan cheese....stir on med. heat then turn to low and stir until it's thick...set aside....while you assemble the dish....
In a med. oven proof casserole butter it then place a layer of chicken , broccoli and white sauce...until you have filled the dish..then top with sauce and sprinkle with the extra Parmesan cheese . Place in 350 degree oven until it's well heated and golden on top....one extra thing that is good with chicken prepared this way are slivered almonds...toasted and scattered on top...
Best of luck I hope this helps you...save some for me...lol
Happy new year and enjoy the weekend!

That comes down to: what do you have in the kitchen? Or what will your budget allow you to buy? Then go from there. To get the most benefit from broccoli it should be steamed. It will go with just about anything.
